I'm the one who said that about not putting down Chevy's and I stick by it. No one here has said one thing like Chevy sucks ass or blah blah blah and was serious. I understand this is the internet and sometimes things are not clear. But no one on here who has more than 200 posts has bad-mouthed GM with any serious conviction. Your first post in this thread was a great one. But then this kid with like 5 posts mentioned opti-spark and you have had a chip on your shoulder since. Over on the Mustang side, you rarely hear us trashing Chevy's, and when this thread was posted, there wasn't one comment that I can recall about how Chevy's sucked. In all honesty this will more then likely be a drivers race.


Well, this is a totally false statement. The new Mach 1 has a totally different motor (DOHC opposed to a SOHC for starters), different gearing and other such things then a plain old GT.


This statement also has no merit! The Mach, if anything is under rated. For those of you who haven't ever been experienced in dealing with a Mach really have no place in bench racing this topic. The Mach can easily run very low 13's bone stock with a good driver. And a 12 sec time slip is not far off with slicks and a decent launch. This car is very impressive to see and be with in its presence.


So now your comparing a 94/95 5.0 to the current GT's and Mach's?? The 94/95's sucked and were total dog's stock! I'm not much of a fan of then as you can tell, and I'm not surprised you beat one with a Shelby Daytona. But to categorize all Mustangs as being slow is pretty stupid!

As of this point, I have K&N CAI, Borla Exhaust no catbacks, 3.73's Rear, MSD ignitions system , Long tube's,52 MM Throttlebody with coolant bypass, Transgo Shift kit, Corvette Servo, Screenless MF, and so on and so on , Car ran a best 12.8 1/4 at 106 MPh at Englishtown

I have a set of 4.10s (still thinking of trading them in for 4.30s ) laying around but Im going to hold out until I get the 31 spline diff/axles + reflash/tune before installing them which wont be anytime soon. Also plan on buying a CnL plenum pretty soon

You car runs good. I was ready to buy some LTs from some local guy but he turned around and sold them to some other guy who was gonna pay more.

Yeah , those Mustangs work great with high Gear's unfortantly 3.73's are about as high as you can go and still highway race with 4l60e Auto any higher and your almost redlining on the highway, If I didn't have a second car I probably would have settled for the 3.42's . I saw this really hooked up 2003 Mustang at this stop light on sunday he revved to me but I was in the straight lane and he was in the turning I really wish I got a chance run but probably was a cop around the corner anyway

Damn Wheres redline on the LT1s? Arent they set at around 5800? Thats where mine is at and 4.30s would put me at around 2400rpms @ 60 & 3000 @ 80mph. Oh but you said highway racing. I believe the stang w/ 4.30s runs out of gear at 108 and 116 w/ 4.10s unless youre going to shift into O/D. I plan on hooking up a bottle of nitrous to my car which is why im swaying more to the 4.10s so I can still have enough gear.

I have pics of my car but Im going to get some better taken this weekend. Dont want to show mine off here just yet

I don't mean actually at redline but with my exhaust and 4000 Rpm's it's not exactly a pleasure for highway cruising but I love my open highway runs like I had 2 weeks ago with a LS1 Vette so I'm not going to go up any higher plus your MPG's really suffer from those high gears but I think the 4.6 blows the Lt1's away in the MPG's department
