very nice cage. the focus is cool too. You topped it in second gear yet? My corolla does right about 58-60mph in second gear @ 6200rpm

Thanks for all the feedback guys!! I wish I could work half as fast as some of you.
7th skyline: If you see the underbody pic on page1 you'll notice that there aren't any fender wells on the chassis. I had to remove all 4 to allow the tires to tuck fit! For the rear I had to remove quite a bit of inner fender too, and both control arms, cv halfshafts need to be drastically shortened to fit.
I'll post more chassis pics after I plumb the brakes/fuel lines.
I forgot to ad that the little black box on above the shifter is the Air/Fuel mixture adjuster, and for the door handles I sliced those off the Revell Tuner 510 door panels!

Honoturtle:
howz your 510 xoming along?
86SR5:
2nd gear will go 67mph at 7200(redline)!
I'm going to try hitting the top speed which is claimed to be 135mph, just need a flat cop-free stretch of highway

Re: Datsun 510 4-door Track car...in progress and need help!

sweet. My redline starts at 6krpm, but I've punched it to 7500 then a limiter kicked in I've gotten the corolla to 110, 5mph short of the speedo being topped out. The manual says do not exceed 25mph in each gear, basically 25 in 1st, 50 in 2nd, 75 in 3rd, 100 in 4th, and if 5th is the same 125, but if longer should be approximatly 130 give or take. But then again, I can hit 32@6krpm in 1st, 56@6krpm in 2nd, haven't gone to 6krpm in the rest of the gears, but I intend to

Some quick updates on the gauge panel...
Started wiring the 5 gauges and tach

Painted wires black and twisted them together

Mounted gauge panel and routed wiring through firewall hole:

Close-up of the tach

Here are the reference pics I'm using

You can see the door handles in this one:

The tach needs one more wire, the brake bias adjuster plumbed, MSD ignition box wired, nerf the rollbar and the interior will be finally done.
Then I can paint this mofo!

Interior is finally finished!
Thanks for all the comments thus far guys, I look forward to them and really appreciate it!
Willimo, I started this kit last year, maybe September. It's been on/off since then. I try to add something nightly, but weeks go by without touching it.
Dude, you're S2K is INSANE,I would vote it best engine detail I've seen and your Rx-7 is just as nuts. I am a big fan of your work.
SLK320-THanks for the kinds words...Your GT2(done yet?) and 510 inspire me!
Some pics of the "pseudo" wired tach and shift light, plumbed brake bias line, msd ignition and rollbar nerfs. I guess the gauges are a little doughboy, but they represent the 1:1 setup pretty faithfully!

Added igntion/tach wiring

Alright, next update will have the chassis/body pics
