hi guys, yah like yours, my G20 has a terrible sulfer smell coming from the exhaust sometimes. I noticed that if I used the same gas from the same gas station all the time, the smell is reduced. it was when I switched brands that the smell would become stronger. I've been using Amoco regular gas the last 3-4 weeks at the same station and the smell had reduced significantly.

there is another issue with the A/C too. it seems like if I leave the AC off for a few days and turn it back on, there is a faint smell in the air. I set it so that the air circulates inside the car, but it still has that smell...it's not the exhaust. after about an hour or so usage, the smell dissappears.

man, this is another one of those G20 things that turns me off from buying another nissan.

I too had this problem last year. The air from the vents, with either the AC or Heat on, smelled liked rotten eggs about 2-3X a week. The exhaust would flare up once in a while too. I got fed up and went to complain to the dealer in February, they then proceeded to do a "procedure", which I have no clue to what, but this did nothing. They called me back in March and said they got a bulletin/update and told me to come in and they would fix it. Since then, I haven't had a problem since. They also told me some crap that they build the car to deal with california emissions laws and in the Northeast, the sulfur content is not as low in california, so thats why it smells. I now stick to one type of gas, Exxon, and it works for me. It was horrible for those four or five months....

Just burn Shell, I'm one of those Shell people. I filled up today with Premium (all I'll ever burn anymore, don't like regular), ouch 1.549 a gallon!

Doh I couldn't find my second receipt for the procedure in March. I found on my first receipt in February that it stated, "tried to apply Bulitten ITB00-026A" they characterized it as Misc-Engine Mechanical -A0001 work. I'll look a bit more for the second receipt. I hope this helps. I have talked to other people in new york with g's, and I know they have had similiar problems and complained to the dealer. So new york dealers should be well aware of problem.

dudes, I filled up with some Mobil super-unleaded yesterday to see what would happen with that funky smell. i didn't notice the smell today...actually, I noticed more of a normal exhaust fume smell. first time I smelled that from my G!!! I'll snort some more when I get home to make sure it WAS my G, and not some other car. heehehe.

primeraman- heehehee. yah, never been to NZ, but I hear it's a great place to be. hear a lot of things are pretty darn expensive down there. is that so?

hey, this super unleaded thing might've helped my car from that funky rotten egg drop soup smell! :frog: I was sniffin some exhaust fumes today after I parked in the garage. it smelled like regular unleaded gas fumes from a healthy new car. hehehehehe!!! hummmmm...perhaps it was the gas that turned on the 'service engine' light???!!!
