Yes. It has been done, thats the CRX I was talking about, it was a USDM one with a JDM glass top. I'm sure it was a shit load of work, but its not like it cannot be done.

CR-X SiR's (EF8) are actually September 89 - March 92

there are plenty of 89 SiR's kicking around here in NZ.

Not the way the previous owner of my EF9 states it, or my mechanic who worked for Honda in Japan in the late '80s, early '90s. His comment was there was a special minimal release of the EF8/EF9 in late '89 but official release was '90. The XSi/RSi was definitely released befor the EFs.

I'm not arguing your point (don't really care ), but there's a hell of a lot that is urban legend about the SiRs - right down to the damn SiR badging and whether it was factory or not. I've seen it on some and not on others - in the guise of Moppie's red Si/grey R, my grey Si/red R and also people who argue that it was only ever called the Civic VTEC on release and that it wasn't badged. There is no answer - even Honda Japan doesn't know. A few of us tried to find out after a brawl over it when we were back on hostboard.

I have NFI really but when an importer was looking into it for me (I want a matching EF8), they checked it under the Aussie 15 year rule and Honda Japan said '90 - so we are waiting another 15 months before we can get them.

And my mistake, they ended in Feb 1992. DelSol Started in Feb/March.

September '89 - September '90 => "1990 year of manufacture"

E.G. Just like with other makes & models you will be able to buy the 2004 model in late 2003.

Australia obvioulsy looks at the whole model year for imports, rather than the actual date of manufacture for the car in question.

And Yes XSi & RSi Started in April '89 (Coupe) & May '89 (Sedan)
