So far, the '00s aren't fairing too well, either...

That pretty much sums it up

there's a stage in Tomorrowland in Disneyland where bands play a few sets at night, and they rotate the bands in and out...

This week (and a few other weeks next month) its:

http://www.80zallstars.com

Kinda dorky, but very cool. I mention it because I went out to see their first set right as I was off work yesterday, and they played Safety Dance.

I have no idea what you are talking about

But seriously, Dire Straits rocks!

Blondie are playing in the City of Sails fairly soon and Debbie Harry is 60... admittedly a reasonably hot looking 60 but I can't imagine going along watching a band where the smell of linament may be stronger than the smell of c. sativa or where the lead singer is about old enough to collect her pension...

Saw Highlander a few weeks ago and ended up digging out 'A kind of magic' - never worked out why when there are eighties parties that folk pull out ABBA cd's...

I'm going to have to pass on the Dire Straits - didn't like them much first time around.

Now I'm going to dig up my TOP GUN DVD, find my RayBan Aviators, my leather jacket and curl up in front of the fire and turn the volume up and think about when it was cool to roll up the sleeves to the elbows, when advocat and lemonade was a respectable cocktail, when students drank Rheineck and when my Reebok Pumps were cool. And chuckle quietly when I realise Kate has no idea about what any of this...
