christofurr,

holy moly bejesus man, that is some crazy stuff thanks =D OK I am definatly gonna flock this bad boy, but just the seat colors are getting me confused... some pictures they are dark grey with blue gray, then the next moment it is light grey... does anyone know the variations of interior color that was sold? I can't seem to get a solid answer on that.

btw, I ran a search a while back, someone on the forums was doing a Ferrarri Enzo... and that was a beaut!!! He has a whole tutorial on iron wields and the color and how to make it so it looks like wielded iron for the exhaust and stuff... man was that car sweet... if anyone can remember who it was can you give me the link, I can't seem to find it under the search

So, I finally got a full sized airbrush for painting real cars from my uncle, I will paint within the next few days, im still letting the primer settle and wet sand... but man real car airbrushes are so bad*ss, like one and two passes and you are completely done, its simply amazing =D

I got all the aluminum rods for the brake lines, but now im looking at the break controller and the brake drum... im not sure where to really drill and what to scratch build to make it hold...

Also on the battery, there is something metal that connects to one of the hoses... anyone know what that is? And what is the best way to manipulate?

Thanks ahead,
Peter

what about using a pair of black stockings, that material is very stretchyand the scale would be verygood for a car, and they are cheap, perfect for speaker mesh

I never thought about that. . . hrmmm

I would think... I would go buy a pair of black stockings for my girlfriend first... *** wipe that idea ***

But yeah man, that is seriously some good idea right there. Well off to the nearest TJ Max or Target sometime this week =D haha. I will definately have to give that a try this time.

Btw I decided its gonna be light grey flock... and then im going to make my own carpet for the car like this one 1/12 GTR I seen on the web...

Thanks Chrismcgee

BTW, anyone seen those rubber paints in the auto store? DO they really work?

ok so today i had some extra time, so I painted some of the interior and then primered everything and ready for the paint job tomolo after school.

So far this is the list of things I've done from the last update...

1. The body kits and adjustments have been changed and fitted
2. Rims and brakes have been put in for the fit
3. Steering works
4. Bottom plastic engine guard has been put in
5. Primered, sand primered, and fitted...

No problems rightnow... thank god

Brakes were painted with steel metalizer and buffed to shine, stock wheel color, gun metal

Hood is finally fitted with no gap, the front small dams have been put in place for the nismo converted front bumper

Seats have been fitted to check colors, interior is dark grey with a mixure of blue and dark sea grey for the two tone look, like the reference picture to the 91' GTR, I didn't used the stickers decal set supplied with the kit for the seats two tone color... they didn't look very good, they were sky blue...

Back is almost done, prior to tomolo's paint job, the smaller gaps will be filled and tucked, the spolier is still not ready, it has dimples on the top from the two stems that molded together from the bottom so still needs to be filled and sanded... its just there to offset the small nismo back spoiler under it as of now.

Basic engine work is fully complete with the last piece, the brake drum and steering controller.

Back side quarter panel kit has been added, suprisingly, even the real cars sides don't match up with the body... but that is how it is supposed to be.

Engine guard in place and wash dried to give the engine more of a used look for real looking underbody

Full kit as of now... its really heavy =P hehe body fits great, and the doors hold well with the panel lines and everything is A OK

So tomolo after schoo, I will paint this bad boy... then 90 percent of the basic build will be done.

Main concern, the bottom of the side skirt, and the area of where the windshild wipers base is, have to be connected to the chassis and the body to make the fit fit... ive not figured out a way to hold them down yet, because after i paint... it might be hard... and im not sure if regular elmers can do this one...

So thanks for stopping by

I must order one of these. I must... must.. Will you add some working stuff like headlights, turning signals, interior light and so on ? The space wouldnīt be a problem. I will try getting lights to mine. That will bring itīs attention when flashing with the lights in shelf !

This thing is big!! Everything looks great!! Except for the N1 duct. It doesn't look right. (Or it's black marker lines around it)

I wish someone will make the R33 in 1/12.

cph81... yeah i know i wish that they did a R33 in 1/12 im so with you on that one. Well, yeah the wholes are completely filled in with putty, I was gonna do the filler for that before i started, but yeah those will be gone, I sorta like them like that gives it an accent on the front end =D

rsbousquet, i am pretty positive that no one has yet made a black R34 in 1/12 yet... would be great tho =D

Ok off to working on this bad boy... till next time. thanks for the comments guys

Cheers,
Peter

ok so the car is now sprayed and mostly fitted... I painted it two days ago... even tho its 102 degrees in Northern California... it doesn't hurt to let the paint and clear to bake for another day =D The car still needs to be sanded juss to even out some clear... suprisingly not too much orange peel this time around... it might be the fact that I was using a real car airgun this time. So everything is fitted, the door and hood hinges are connected... the body is still not screwed together yet, for more stuff to come along, so i don't want to tie it down of now. Rightnow I can safely say, the car is about 85% done with the basic build. But still longs ways away from completetion with the scratch parts and what not... im still considering the lights idea from Schnitzermann, but i gotta plan that out... I think i rather make the ambers blink hazdarous lights =D. I am pretty happy as of now... so here are the pictures, check this...

it went from this...

to this...

Yes it is now sprayed with KH2 "charcoal Pearl" right from the auto body shop itself

Real gun metal or "gun gray" from the Auto shop, and a tamiya spray can... no comparison... period

Cleaned up the gaps filled with putty for the N1 ducts, thanks cph81

The bar for the winsheild support is still not painted yet, or glued to the engine bay, I placed in the hood hinges and the door support for the opening and closing of moving parts. Does anyone know how to make that foam fire resistant stuff that they have under hoods? How can i recreate that?

See the nismo side skirts fit right on the body, as well as the doors themselves fit flawlessly onto the body, and can open and close without any obstrutions inbtween.

Baby got back =D, it has a low end nismo spolier as well under the regualar spolier.

This shot is to show you the back side skirt fitting and the fitting of the door from the back.

Here is the son... the dad is in the back =D hehe, once again a demonstration of a comparison of a 1/24 and 1/12 scale GTR... yeah its huge eh? The color from the gunmetal paint and real auto stuff really shows it difference, but both these cars were clear coated with two part auto clear niether the less.

Close up of the rim, coloring of the car, and the metalizer brakes inbtween.

So as of now... basic build still need to...

- Sand, and polish out the body for blemishes and what not
- Body detailing paints
- light housing, tail lights
- engine bay cleaning
- windows and prep
- exhaust tip
- radiator cap and hose
- interior (70 percent done)

Thanks for keeping this post with me guys, leave comments and enjoy hobbying =D

Cheers,
Peter

Great job on this kit...and that paint is awesome. Detail Master makes underhood insulation material for 1/24 kits. Not sure how it would look in 1/12th..but you might want to check it out. they are the only ones I know who makes it.

Check out Detail Master website...type in "hood" in the search box and it will pop up.
