Re: Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010

Phil - this link below seems to offer a copy of McLaren's most recent press release about their display at Goodwood. As far as F1s go, again they mention just the Le Mans winner being present:

http://www.racecar.com/Motorsport/Ne...wood/35467.htm

I see no reason why McLaren would keep the kind of display you (and I, and everyone) are hoping for a secret. Also if they were planning something that big surely they would have reached out to as many owners as possible so I think the fact that 16Rs new owner received no invite is another very telling sign.

Re: Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010

Several of the stories on the MTC gathering made mention of an upcoming display at Goodwood, but with no real specifics on what that would be.

Quoting from McLaren's Press Release which was posted here:

Quote:
McLaren's celebration of the 20th anniversary of the F1 will continue throughout the year.

McLaren enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see both the F1 and 12C together at this summer's Goodwood Festival of Speed, which takes place at the famous English motorsport venue from 2-4 July 2010.

Re: Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010

Sorry to have missed you Greg, i kept a look out but never spotted you, did run in to Style though.
Rather annoyingly the guy on the mclaren stand said they had planned to show eight f1s but the plan changed for some unknown reason!! intrigingly though he did say the GT is not on display at the MTC as we all know, but is that not a veiled confirmation that Mclaren still own it ( as we are not sure to this day that they still have it..are we? but im ready to be correted by those in the know!)
So over all not a bad day but the lack of two of the rarest cars your never likely to see was a big dissapointment. I.E. the Mclaren F1 GT and the koenigsegg Trevita. Hell they even had a Trevita sign above the Agera?? Go figure

Yes, it was great to meet up and have that drink at last it was that hot at Goodwood. I,ve lost count of how much fluid I,ve taken onboard.

It was also a great pleasure for Greg and myself to meet up with Roger_ph and his friend Daniel from Germany, top guys . We had a great time together over the two days and I hope they found are hospitality most welcoming .

I would like to take this opportunity to thank McLaren Automotive for displaying #01R on their show stand, It was a real great pleasure to see this iconic F1 GTR again and to mention that their staff were also very polite and accommidating in trying to answer my questions about the MP4 12C.

Although I did not take many pics, I will post some up when I have a bit more free time.

Thanks for all the contributions here so far Greg - love the details on #24R.

Your last two photos don't seem to be working on my end though.

Here's one I found...
