Y'know, I didn't actually expect an answer for the questions I posed.
I posted them merely because they are the things that anyone who you would look to lending you money would ask. When it comes down to it, it is all about how much of a risk you would look to a lender, especially at a time when we are just about recovered from the last time people who shouldn't have been lent money, were. As someone else said, despite all of that, it is always possible to find a way to get a mortgage and as long as you don't go way beyond your means, you should be fine. After all, I managed to borrow £60,000 when I was an 18 year old unemployed student to buy a house for investment purposes. Bare in mind that means I had no credit history at all back then, whereas you do (good or bad) so there is no reason unless your credit history is tarred beyond repair, that no one would lend to you.
