Oh, I forgot to ask which version of Team Rosbergs Merc you are going to do. Belgian driver David Saelens?

Woha that is a very attractive livery. How are you planning to do the light blue section, decals or spray it?

Good luck with it Seb!

When it's about Mercedes - go ask Huudo
This merc is kinda stripped down with the silver sound absorbing materials behind the engine taken out.
Anyways, I noticed different mercs has very slightly different engine setup although most of them looks kinda same in the inside. hmm....
I was thinking of doing another merc most likely another DTM but possibly looking at the Warsteiner version.

But I wanna see how 835 does his and if I can gather more ideas and more research to get more details in hopefully.

Time to post more pics 835

arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,

huudo, you got the only pics i need, and i don't got, 24h service engine bay open :-(

And as chain say, they remove the firewall/sound absorder material :-(,
one mistake for me as i have add it on mine :-(

Phil, for the light blue fade, i don't know yet, because i must practise airbrush more, and my pasche H, is not what i can call a precise airbrush.Someone have an idea of what colour to use for it, as for the dark blue, i use TS53 : dark metallic blue.

Here is the s27 decal :

and you can see them apply on s27 site Here

For more pics about my progress, wait the end of the week, i do not do modeling last week eng, or just a few : starting to decal underneath, and making mask for interior. Be patient, i am a slow modeler.

Huudo, many many thanks for sharing pics, my car will be of course "Belgian" driver David Saelens ;-) as no french drive it ;-) ah ah ah

835, what you use for yur firewall? Aluminium foil? Or you painted it?

You gonna do a display model? If so, then doing without the firewall is better as you want it to be as accurate as possible according to the pictures provided by huudo.
If not leave it alone, I think realistically, all engines will have firewalls to cut off the enormous sound from the drivers.

Ok, we'll be patient, hehe and still here. Dont rush it, take yur time!

I think it's for heat protection. Not a lot of use in sound absorbing materials with a 4.0 liter V8 engine screaming in front of you.

So it might be that some teams used it and some didn't or that the customer teams ran "lower-spec" 2000 cars in 2001. But I'm just guessing here.

Yes, 2 reasons.

1) If you look closely to the garage picture, you can actually see it.
2) I saw this car last year on a show and noticed it being black with yellow. Unfortunately, my camera ran out of batteries and there were no batt.'s on sale, so I can't prove it, but they are.

Cheers.
Guido
