Re: Starts When It Wants To

Ouch, Im sorry to hear that man. I wish it wouldve worked out for ya.

I will say, youre a bigger man than me, Id sooner drive my car into the river than let someone else work on it! That may be a slight exaggeration, but I hate taking my car to the mechanic, especially the dealer, but they seemed to be the only ones who could figure out the problem in your case.

I guess you could get a new switch and try that, but sounds like its too late for that. I hope it works out for ya.

Re: Starts When It Wants To

$870 later, so far so good.

I picked up my car today and have been really trying to test it to the limit. I have yet to have a problem with it. I will keep you posted on the results.

LittleHoov, when I picked up my car last Friday, I was frustrated beyond trying anything else. I just wanted it fixed. Knee-jerk reaction cost me significantly. You know your stuff!

Re: Starts When It Wants To

Well. Its hard to buy too much of a new car for 870 bucks. So I guess at least youve still got one you can trust to run.

Hopefully you wont have anymore problems with it. You would think the dealer would at least cut you a little break since youve been there so many times for the same thing. But I guess GM cant afford to do things like that right now.

As far as the knee-jerk reaction, I think we've all been there. I was convinced I had a failing water pump and was days away from ordering a new one, but I ended up finding out my thermostat was loose. Of course a new WP wouldnt have cost 870, but I still wouldve been pissed when it didnt fix it!

As for me knowing my stuff, only to a point. The only reason I know jack about the stuff I told you is because Ive been through it myself and had to find a way to fix it on the cheap. But I learned most of it from this place, so I cant really take any credit.
