Those pictures would be helpful. Just that I'm hearing nuff people bassh intrax. I dont want a rough ride since Im not a racer. I just want to lose the gap in my wheel well and keep the soft ride.

This is the best pic I have right now, but it does show my rear fender gap(none). My damn garage is too narrow. I bought these before G.C. came out with springs. They are modified.

I heard of guys cutting lowering springs but I thought that was impossible since ours are tapered?b

Yea, I cut the coils
1 1/4 all around Yea, i'm not proud of it I was tired of how small my 17's looked No problems ever, swapping them out for G.C.'s |

When are you getting you GC's
I orderd a pair of intrax off some guy and he flopped. Seeing that the rear of your car sits so low I was thinkin'......................:alien:
How is it possible to cut springs on our cars I was told that it was impossible because we have tapered springs.

But if our springs are tapered wouldn't there be a problem with them fitting in place properly?
Think about it . If you had an ice cream cone and you cutt off one inch from the top or bottom there would be a big difference in the diameter of the spring. Am I not correct? For example we'll take a look at removing 1" coil just for argument sake. This is not measured at all but it's just an example of what would happen if you were to cutt the springs from the bottom. *Take note as the same thing would happen if you were to take the cut from the top. \____/ = 4 _ _ _ _ \___/ = 3 _ _ _ \__/ = 2 _ _ Weather you take one inch off the top or one inch off of the bottom the diameter of the spring would be changed. You understand what I mean now?

I finaly got my car back from shop blown radiator, water pump, head etc ......
I was going down the highway thinking that the ride is not that bad and then I hit the city and bam ... suck ass ride again.. if you live where there are no pot hole, bumps in the road or driveway .. cool.... If you ride in any city . forget about it .... GC here I come ....

wussup fellow Canadian G...
I heard that you can cut "dead" coils (non-tapered section on the end part of the springs) on the Intrax springs, but not live coils. Also, if you're ride is a P10 (like mine), I don't think the rears are tapered anyway. I was looking at buying a set of Intrax springs but I decided to go with B&G's (w/ KYB's) instead. I've had them on since this past July and they've been great. Ride height is around 1.7" all around. I'll see if I can get some of my pics scanned in sometime soon. |

I've heard about this B&G but never really seen any adverts for it. They lower the car 1.75"??? How much are they? Where can you order them from?

i have a 94 G with Intrax Springs and KYB struts
the ride looks nice, but ill probably just cut off and 1 inche on top or bottom of the coil(undecided yet) so that it will lower the back a little. then put some KYB struts on the back.

Just to make myself clear,
I don't recommend cutting your springs. It can cause major problems. |
