Re: What are the current approximate values of each spec of McLaren F1?

what more do you know about chassis #018 PRS29?
So are you suggesting the figure mentioned by GTI WR6 of $US3.5million was incorrect?
Any more info on general prices and in particularly chassis 018 would be much appreciated.
Thankyou

The price quoted was far less actually. It was 1.35MM Pounds Sterling. At the time it would have been about $2.7MM. An unbelievable price for what you were getting. Especially now.

The least expensive road F1 that I know of now is about $2.7MM. Most are $3MM or more.

I believe that not only will the F1 get through this economic crisis unscathed, but it will further appreciate.

Just my .02 cents.
Great first post, after 2 years of lurking

Back in 2001 the prices for #016 and #018 were as follows:

Re: What are the current approximate values of each spec of McLaren F1?

Yes I know I have been registered here for a while, and haven't posted. There are just too many of these types of sites. I generally don't post much... regardless of which site it is.

As for chassis #018, I do have a few photographs, and a letter from the head of customer care, discussing the car. It is current as of 2006. I was looking into that car for a client. He didn't take it, and I am sure he is kicking himself now. Now its just #018 and #073 that have the LM spec engines (and according to said letter... will be the only two non-LM cars that have those engines). As of 2006, the car had 14,000km. The fuel tank is due for replacement this year. I have already mentioned the price that it was offered for. Now, I would be surprised if it sold for less than $4MM. I do know of at least 5 Maccas for sale, but only by color and not chassis number (only because I didn't look into it too deeply).

I should be more active on here, as it seems to be a great place with knowledgeable people. Its just a bit less common to have requests for F1's than other cars. A pity in my mind.

Even worse, is that I haven't had the chance to be driven in one, much less drive one. I hope that changes soon. Especially since I have been in the Veyron.

Cheers.

I'm a bit surprised on the GTR's, but then again I'm not. They are very special, some with good racing history (and some even real pretty, although I think that might be very individual), but not as usable as a road car.

Is there an anamoly with the Gulf-Davidoff GTR at Bingo Sports? They're not listing the price, I just noticed. I personally think that this one is really special, so I'm curious whether it would fetch more than a roadcar.

Yes that price... which was almost 2 years old now... was incorrect. It was quoted at 1.35MM Pounds Sterling... so about $2.7MM. Now, it will be much higher.

Hello,

PRS29 and all > do you think is it possible to find a road car (any color, any mileage) for 1.5M€ (max 2) ?

Thanks

Re: What are the current approximate values of each spec of McLaren F1?

Except for auction sales, all other sale transactions are between private parties, and hence, unless one is privy to particular sale details, the info is typically shared by word of mouth. Even in the case of auction sales, where the results are published, many seasoned market participants don't trust auction houses as they are known to frequently offer special terms to certain vendors, sometimes impacting or skewing results.

With that caveat, as for market values as of May 2009, of course most are aware of the RM sale last year, where #65 sold for £2,530,000 (or ~$4,100,000 at the conversion rate at the time of sale). Since then, several standard road cars have sold for figures rumored to be in the $2,500,000 - $3,000,000 range, depending on who's figures you believe. One thing is certain - values for all F1 models have substantially risen over the past year of so. Another trend that seems to be in agreement among market participants is that the demand is greater for original (standard spec) road cars vs. modified versions (HDF-kit). Lastly, as no LM, GT, or XP cars have traded hands over the past several years, it is only guess work to estimate an actual transaction value.

Re: What are the current approximate values of each spec of McLaren F1?

Road car valuations in particular are substantially impacted by factors such as milage (OD reading) and condition, along with what original equipment is included in a sale (luggage, tool kit, watch, number Driving Ambition book, etc.). No doubt the chief factor in the astounding sale result for #65 was its well chronicled delivery milage - in effect, it was represented to be essentially a new car (if not the lowest milage, certainly among the lowest of any F1). At the opposite end, there are a few 'well chronicled' HIGH milage examples which are certainly worth considerably less.
