Yes, sure you can do that. Keep in mind that the crank turns 2X for every one turn of the camshafts, so the CS pulley will show TDC for 2 positions of the camshafts: one for the compression stroke and one for the exhaust stroke. So when you say you are off 180 deg on the crank, that would imply that your camshaft sprocket and timing cover marks are aligned when the CS pulley key is facing downwards, not upwards.

The problem turned out to be my air flow meter. The contacts on connector got damaged when I was taking it off. I just popped the plastic cover, fixed the contacts and retested the resistances. Everything is worling fine now. Thanks.
