VTEC not working

I will check my oil, but I do not think that it is that because my speedometer is not working either....it works sometimes and then so does my VTEC!

Well if your speedo is not working it could be a fuse or loose connection. I would just take it to a dealer.

Thanks guys I will check all of that, but about the oil......my vtec has not been working for a while and I have changed my oil a couple of times since it has not worked and it still does not.....so I guess that it is the solenoid.....how much is that?

If your speedo isn't working than most likely you need a new speed sensor (located on tranny). For the Vtec take a 12 volt source and touch the wire coming off the VTEC soleniod and see if you hear a click, if it's clicks it's working fine ( do this with motor off).

thanks man I will try that...so is a 12 volt a lantern battery? I think that I am just going to take it to the shoop to find out what is wrong with it!

hey man here's what I think you problem is...I had a problem with my speedo not working and the connector (sensor) had corroded. After that replace speedo and everything worked...just a htought

nvm..took me 3 minutes to find it under my hood. lol. yeah sorry about reviving it..i was searching and this was like the top result.
