omg i bet that suprised you. did he mention anything on what type of engine it could be??? NO IT IS NOT A VR6 or any vw motor ai have heard of. the biggest displacement by a vr6 is 3.2l int he r32 hence the name. then there are the w8 and w12 engines. i would love to be driving that car. get some pics and more specs for me if you ever see him again.

Yo Redline....I am digging the CRVTEC in the sedan...except for this bad experience with the VW, I bet you get to spank most folks...

My question is...has anyone here (Redline ) got their CRVTEC on a dyno?? I'd love to see some numbers. what kind of HP are we seeing out of these when they are built/tuned and running right ???

it could either be a bored up 2.8l vr6 if it and making that much power it will def be the newer 24v one. but since you say he got it imported i would guess he is running the new VW R32 engine which is a 3.2l VR6 engine he may have even had that bored and stroked. be afraid when the R32 arives to the shores of america. i want one but they cost SOOOO much.

Gti_vr6_a3 said exactly what i was gonna say before id even read the rest of the thread.
the R32 makes 240HP from the 3.2 so with a page full of mods it could well be the one.

k guys check this out i was telling my mechanic about this little embarassment i got from the vw, i described what it looked liked and what the owner looked like and he said he knows of that car. he seen in in a friend of his shop getting some machined head work on it. he does have the vr6, bored out to 3.2or5L cant remember ecactly. but he had this mean ass head improted from germany. it illegal her in the states they wouldn't ship it here so they had it shipped to a friend in canada then they shipped it over here. dAMn!! but thats all he knew about said it was freakin quick.

sastanley---i love the 2liter in my car also, believe it or not though, i get some pretty good matches here from hondas, theres a lot of quick cars here, but other than that i pretty much suprise people like whoa. just last weekend i beat a 99ex with a 50 shot. dude thought nos was gonna put him over everyone else and about the dyno i was planning on getting one this week, but im gonna have to wait till monday or so to see how much cash flow i have after the weekend, if i have enough i will get it done early next week. i've heard they usually put out somewhere between 170-190 or so hp and somewhere between 133-160 torque. when there built
