They should have kept the Maxima at around 3000 lbs with the 3.5 engine. Oh well, just a thought

oh, good to know, aren't the M&Q-45's fm?. Fm just describes weight distribution, it's a front engine car but has the weight distributed more like a mid-engine cuz the engine sits further back in the chassis. anyhow, the maxima still isn't based on the altima, never was and probably never will be.
And they defintely should have worked to keep the new max's weight down. it's rare to see a 6 cylinder under 1 1/2 tons. that's why i love my 95 so much, it might be slightly underpowered but the potential is so much better cuz of obd-1 and the light weight.

Which models/packages are these numbers for? I bet a base GXE weighs less than a fully loaded 3.5 Altima.

The 2k2 mustang GT is only faster then the 2k2 max in 1st and 2nd gear - from there on they cant pull away. I know this from experience. It really pisses off the stang guys when they can blow away a friggin dad car - bwa-hahahha.

I believe you because even when I race other Stangs, if they beat me, its not by alot. Impressive considering I drive a "family sedan".

yeah, it's funny how mustang v8 drivers think their car is the shit, and it can beat anything, anywhere, just cause it has 8 cylinders. funny, though, they get awful pissed when you destroy them in your max

I never raced a 1999 and up, but...

My friend Ryan has a 1995 GT (5.0) and I smoked him by a couple of car lengths. He is automatic, but still... it wasn't even close.

for the extra horsepower and torque they have, even beating an auto is worth bragging about. if your friend wanted to win races he'd have bought a 5 speed. the only person he can blame for losing is himself. and ford

actually, i'm surprised you beat a 5.0 by that much, they are generally faster, more dislpacement, more torque as far as i know...but yeah, buying an auto v8 seems silly to me, but then again i don't have a peg leg or anything like that
