Re: WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang
Great effort. That's a lot of work you're putting into this, looking forward to seeing you bring it home.

Thanks guys!
![]() Here's a little update - nothing much but it's moving on, right? ![]() I glued sideskirts to the body other than that didn't change much. I've got a lot of work with putty and body patching. ![]() ![]()

Re: WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang
By the way...
Does anyone have a diagram (how it is mounted) of a procharger? I'd need it for this beauty. Thanks!

Thanks for comments!
![]() HI! I'm back with a little update. I had to widen the fender on the left side to match the right side: ![]() ![]() The thing that looks like gap in the fender is the CA gel glue. ![]() Evil look: ![]() Sexy back: ![]() Still have to fill the small gaps on the body before priming. Hope to post some progress soon.

Re: WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang
I managed to prime the body, so it's ready for stage 3 - tamiya basic putty:
![]() A lot of scars on it but I'll fix them.

Re: WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang
You wanna be careful with that basic putty - it shrinks slowly for weeks as it dries, and can ruin your painting with shrinkage and lines if it's not fully stable. That's why people use the two-part stuff - it's more stable, better for sanding, painting and finish work. You probably know all this, but anyway, keep up the good work, it looks really good.

You can also seal with future floor polish before painting - avoids "Ghosting",works very well |

Re: WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang
Quote:
Future or any sealer won't avoid "ghosting" if the putty used isn't 2-part that cures by chemical reaction vs. air drying of standard putty. Shrinkage is shrinkage; regular putty takes months to fully cure and shrink, 2 part putties are cured in minutes/hours. Using a sealer doesn't stop standard putty from shrinking. Sealers are used to keep the solvents in the paint from reacting w/the plastic around fillers and where bodywork has been sanded/modified. It's the swelling of plastic around bodywork where the ghosting occurs in that case.

I meant after shrinkage and part is ready for primer Future helps , when I use it there is no ghosting(body filler showing up through primer) |

Re: WIP: Revell Cervini Mustang
Thanks for all the helpfull tips, guys!
Well I applied putty two weeks ago so it should be ready for sanding soon. Hopefully I will post some progress soon. I did some work on the engine and now I'm working on fitting a 9V battery under the rear seats for lighting of this baby. I have also started with modifying of the wheel arches so that the rear wheels will fit perfectly. That also required making of a new differencial... Pics will follow soon! Thanks for watching! 8)
