I wouldn't mind having a Northstar in my car. That is one badass engine! 330hp...8k redline.... drives like no other v8..... be a great engine for drifting all I have to say.....I love driving northstar powered cars... they take off for 8k like a bullet never thought a v8 would be that rev happy. My best treat was driving a 600hp awd twinstar LOL. Two northstars, one under the hood one in the trunk in a Caddy Eldorado..now that was a pimp ride
:alien:
I have no idea how much a Northstar costs though...and I think they are FWD engines.....and I dunno it is a GM product but wonder if u can put a GM manual transmission behind it....

Don't shoot me down...... but if you want a 6 cylinder with twin turbos get a Supra Engine. I've always wanted to throw one of those in a truck or such for a customized nice ride. All the parts are in US basically and its a kickass engine. More displacement then the RB as well. PERHAPS the greatest part of that engine is the turbos sit on the passenger side of the car and you have no steering column issues in american cars when running twin turbos...............

you honestly think a 2jz is better then a RB you gotta be kidding me. a RB has a higer redline, has 6 throttle bodies, can handle just as high horsepower as a 2jz, revs smoother and faster then a 2jz. you were talkin about how nice a northstar engine is becasue its soo rev happy. well a RB is more rev happy then a 2jz, and has almost just as much torque. the only benifit that i can think off is that the 2jz is easier to bolt on, and that there are more parts for it.

Im glad to see people wanting a KA-T. Although I will not be getting one (I'd prefer a stock SR, with maybe a BOV, Turbo timer etc. bascially bolt ons and stuff that increases the life of the engine), it is THE engine for drag racing, is cheaper to maintain, as is tough as a mofo.

for DRAG racing. it's good for track too, but not as good as an SR. since i'm a track/drift fanatic, SR it is for me.

Yeah im more of a track guy, but around here theres more drag racing but a SR20DET is sure well enough to beat guys around here, they dont have crap done to their cars, just the "Awsome" Rims and the huge Aluminum Spoilers that look like park benches, no real power upgrades.. pfft! :o

nobody said anything about itb or higher revving in the RB vs 2jz battle. All I said is the Toyota engine has higher displacement, is a US engine... and its best benefit of all is the turbos sit on the passenger side and you have no steering column issues on a LHD car.... what you would want in America......I would rather have an RB......but some people care about things besides high revving and individual throttle bodies hehe...
