Well I must start off saying that I love my 02' Silverado and its never let me down to date. It has over 150k on it and I've replaced the battery and a rear diff seal. The check engine light as never been on once.

My 02 1500 now has 145,000 miles and aside from it's 3rd windshield, being on my 3rd set of tires and a battery it's been golden.

I understand because I live in San Diego thankfully I don't have to deal with snow/ice issues like the ABS sensor rusting out or wheel bearings going south waaay too early.

I wonder how many of the issues out there are caused mainly due to environmental aspects and the wear and tear of a harsh wet/salty environment vs what will fail when these conditions aren't present.
