Re: WIP: Toyota Celica ST185 Monte Carlo Rally 1992

Hello Everyone:

A lot of work has been done over the last couple of days. Onto the pics (lots):

The belts are from Studio27, and pe harness are from MSM creation (as there aren't enough harness from the Studio27 set for two seats)

Also finished detailing the wheels. It’s my first time in using stencils to paint the tyre logos :

With the spare wheel and fuel tank in place:

Completed chasis:

Next up is attaching the body to the chasis.

Thanks for looking.

Did that car really run on slicks, or was it just laziness/stupidity on Tamiya's part?

In 1992 the rallye cars also run on slick tyres.

So when did they change to cut slicks (i.e. those seen on modern rally cars)?

More updates:

Finished detailing the body. I used gray for the panel lines but they still turned out to be too dark

Attaching the chassis to the body, with the roof vents in place:

I also used pe mesh on the hood vents and the air intake (although you can’t really see them in these pics).

The model should be done by the end of this week, if everything goes well.

Thanks for looking.

In 1995 the slick tyres were banned from the rallyes.

Your Celica looks great.
Congratulations!
