Is the Acton CP9150 still the way to go? I'm ready to buy!

Actually the CP9150 has been discontinued and now harder to find! It was replaced with the Actron CP9190

Is the 9190 a good one, though a bit more money!

Yes, it has upgraded features which includes the ability to read enhanced data, graph engine data, record and playback stored vehicle information, and to print information through a PC. All this in a tool compatible with ALL 1996 and newer vehicles (OBD II) as well as certain pre-1996 GM, Ford and Chrysler vehicles. Check the specs in the link.

Re: code reader for 95 Lesabre

I got the CP9190 for my 94 Park Ave Ultra and it really is a great tool.
Actually I have the CP9185 kit which is the same scanner but comes only with a OBD-II cable. The CP9190 kit contains additional cables for Ford, Chrysler and older GM vehicles.

I have the CP9150 as well and I can say that the new unit is a big improvement, especially when it comes to displaying live data. The bigger display shows more data at a time and it is customizable as well, meaning you can configure it to show only the data you are interested in. Plus the display has a backlight, something that I really missed with the CP9150.

I can highly recommend the CP9190 (or CP9185).
