Here's better news! Tamiya also announced it.

Well now it is getting interesting!

Anyone know anything? New GT-R? Race version, or stock?

I assume w/o "Skyline" moniker it's the new one.

I think its just the stock GTR, but i would hope that once they have the base body, they would also make the super GT cars.

Re: R35 GT-R from Aoshima in July

Tamiya's is significantly more $ (4000 yen vs. 2800 yen), so let's hope it's got an engine. If not, good luck!

Several of Tamiya's recent JGTC kits are pushing that price mark and they are not full detail. In fact, they are simplified detail. At least the street version, even if simplified, should have a nice interior.

The one with the biggest...rack

Tamiya's is priced like a full-detail. Sounds like that's the one to get if you have to have an engine. Otherwise, I'd figure Fujimi/Aoshima to both be fairly equal. Time will tell.

Re: R35 GT-R from Aoshima in July

Woohoo !!

I'm guessing/hoping it'll be out in UK round end of May-June...hopefully same time they restock with TS sprays. Personally, I doubt if it'll include engine detail because as far as I'm concerned, Tamiya don't normally include engines with their street kits. At the most, may be showing the top half of the engine (like SLR). Even the 34 and Z-Tune didn't get one, so I doubt the 35 will.

Won't stop me getting about 2 or 3 of these though

Re: R35 GT-R from Aoshima in July

Now, Revell Germany has to make the 997 (preferably the GT2) to fight the GT-Rs from Tamiya, Fujimi and Aoshima

Re: R35 GT-R from Aoshima in July

I have taken the plunge and pre-ordered the Tamiya kit. For the price, I hope that it will be full detail with an engine (and not just half like the SLR)! If I hear that it will have a die-cast chassis or requires the purchase of a p/e set to complete the look of the kit, I will cancel my order and buy the Aoshima one (it may be of 'lesser' detail, but at least it is cheaper!

It looks like Aoshima is giving Tamiya some competition. They are also releasing the Nismo Fairlady Z too:

http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS04155

At least they are not afraid of a making a kit that a more well known manufacturer has already realised! Good on you Mr A.
