It's the total calories consumed per day vs the total calories burned per day that counts and it doesn't matter when they are consumed or what kind of calories you consume. It wouldn't be very healthy but if you ate 2,000 calories of choclate cake at night as the only thing you ate all day and burned off 2,000 claories the following day you would not get fat.

Re: Midnight Snack!

Yeah, eating before bed can be bad if you are concerned about weight. But we all do it sometimes regardless right?

My favorite when I wake up and can't get back to sleep is graham crackers and milk. Comfort food!

Re: Midnight Snack!

It's bad to eat before bed but not because of weight gain. Forcing your digestive system to work while your body is trying to sleep makes for acid reflux and gas. Combine that and the fact that you're lying horizontal (not the ideal position for digestion) means you'll be farty the next day and might get indigestion. Pop some Rolaids or Pepto to go with that midnight snack.

Unfortunately after a long night of drinking nothing is better than a greasy Tommy's chiliburger at 2am. Just be sure to leave ALL the windows open while you sleep or you'll wake up in a toxic environment.

Re: Midnight Snack!

damn i haven't had a chilli burger for months.

A few time's i'd pig out on pasta an hour before i'd go to bed, it would of been the only thing i'd eaten in over 9 hours, and damn it's good.

Re: Midnight Snack!

Pasta - best food ever.

Although, a good chili burger sounds soooo good right now. Or a great stroganof burger from our Training Table Restaruant. Great.... still 2 hours till lunch and now I'm starving!
