Re: New Problem

let us know about ur code. My car was better this morning too but still some hesitation please see tsb on www.quad4forums.com writen by EPA NIGHT MARE on 2-21-2007.It talks about oil pump causing to much pressure on cold start causing lifters to float? and stall motor check it out. But I did install a new oil pump after market on my rebuild, maybe they just copied oem spec's Iam such a pessimist

I'll check that out..the first time it threw a code it was a 030 but I didn't see that in the Manual..they read it as an EGR valve code..I guess that will be my next (probably should have been my 1st) repair..

Re: New Problem

ok the tsb is 77-61-09B oct97 it has to do with oil pump pressure relife valve not working ,relieving excessive pressure anyway I could not get to that page it was on by that search method. I tied a search for researchers wanted under 2.4 problem diagnosis you will like this place too.

Re: New Problem

Oh for the love of all that is holy IAC didn't work..I wonder if this could be a TCC solenoid issue? I'm doing Tranny change and if possible will also put on new TCC solenoid and see what happens..

Re: New Problem

lets do it again because I am also not happy with the results I got so far either. Repeat: for new readers cold start and slow idle throttle up to say 15 miles an hour. the vehicle acts like it wants to cut out but when giving a heavy throttle it goes right past the stammering and cutting out part. It only does this when cold any new help would be great !!! Ihope you do not mind daughterisis313
I my self do not think that the TCC would cause this as it would be more like a slipping tranny than that miss like prob.. Besides new tranny you should not have to install new TCC. lets burn one.
New parts on mY car ETC, TPS (code), crank sensor (rebuild) knock sensor (rebuild)

Re: New Problem/new development

Ok guys, well I think I've found a solution for the jerking although the problem isn't "fixed" I noticed that when I turn on my AC my CEL doesn't come on and my car doesn't jerk at low speeds. Anybody know what may be the common denominator here? I ran my AC all day yesterday, no CEL and no jerking the entire day...thoughts?

Re: New Problem

G'Day missus.... If you solve this issue...it could be a BIG help to alot of wrenches .....
FACTS:
The Idle Air Control (IAC) stabilizes idle speed during cold starts and once the engine is heated, to stabilize the idle when a load is put on the engine (i.e. when your air cond. comes on). It allows air to bypass the throttle plate, thus giving the engine more air when it needs it, such as on a cold start or when there is a load on the engine.

While your IAC is part of the Emission Sub Systems, and is, in most cases, controlled by the ECM/PCM (Electronic Control Module/Powertrain Control Module), it is usually diagnosed with a scanner.

Sit down with a Vodka-Tonic, make it a double.... and go through the phone book and find a shop that can Scan your OBD 1 system.

It can be diagnosed without the scanner, but as the symptoms may be caused by other sensors and/or components, you do run the chance of a misdiagnosis.

Cheers !! JzJzz and the Man from Down Under !!! Time for a Slab!!

Re: New Problem

Same ol stuff going round and round lost in the woods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Living in fear of the stumble .The car started screwing up again and so we went back to the dealer for help and we checked and came up with computer problem so I got that changed and had to have the computer flashed for cranck sensor re-learn again .ran good for about a day and once again started screwing up well I thought fuel but no it was not the fuel pump because as I poured fuel in thr intake it just bogged down. I did this because I no longer had just a slight miss this has gone to a major miss from what I got from the dealer 1&4 cylinders where missing (when it did miss) so the only thing I knew to do since the ICM was in control of 1 & 4 ...2 & 3 this from computer was I just replaced everthing under the IDI and boy did it run good again untill the next day.when I went to move it and it shot me a crank sensor code and now it is back at the dealer for poss. new crank sensor that is new with rebuild. hell the dealer has to flash a re-learn for new crank sensor any way. What luck what skill sombody just lay hands on this car...this thing has barley run since in stalled what a learning experience this ain't your MOMA"S V-8 SORRY for stealing this post and thanks for the vent DAU. 313

Wow, I just give up. I took "Becky Sue" down the road to Myrtle Beach and she ran like a champ, Check Engine Light on and all...so right now I don't know..she runs better with the AC on than with it off..I guess I may have to go to the evil "mechanic" and get a diagnostic
