There isn't a money issue... I could keep the Talon and do all this barely. If anything happens though that I need money I'll be in a tight spot then. But if I sell the Talon and pay off the remaining amount on the Cobalt (about 6500) then that is an extra 300 a month I'm not spending on a car payment, not to mention the cash I would have in the bank...

Parting with the Talon is probably the hardest thing to do considering all the time, work, and money I have invested into it, but it also seems like the more logical way to go with it. This whole thing has been a massive learning experience and I could probably build another DSM to be just as strong and powerful as this one for half the amount I have invested into this with name brand parts and brand new everything. Granted there were a lot of little things that I replaced with new because I wanted every aspect of the car to be new so it would be highly reliable when finished, but I didn't really need to do it all. I just chose to do it...

I could sell the Cobalt and keep the Talon, but I'm not so sure it would be quite as reliable and practical as the Cobalt is. The ideal thing for my situation would be to line up an extra part time job and then I could keep the Talon, but have no life and I don't want to do that either... It would be great if I were to stumble upon a better paying full time job, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. I will be looking for one that pays a lot more and is closer to my new place, but I need to be prepared in case I don't find one...

Who knows what'll happen... If I'm lucky I'll find a better paying job and be able to keep the Talon, if not then I'll do what's in my best interest for my life...

Vanilla, why don't you think anyone would buy it for that? I have well over 15k in the entire car... =/

I'm in the same boat as Nilla, you may get that if you put down some numbers and sell it at the track or something. But not on the side of the road were an average joe wouldn't know heads from tails. Basically, if you're bent on selling it, choose location very well.

Oh I know this. I wouldn't just put a for sale sign on it and try to sell it. That would never work around here. I'm thinking about listing it on a few forums once I get it running... Maybe next weekend?

I can't find a 22mm tap and dye with a 1.5 thread pitch... Anybody? I don't wanna spend a ton of money on some huge tap and dye set for me to use one dye once...

i LOVE your car, but i wouldnt pay $10k for it... i'ed give you $8k for sure... but $10k is to steep for me... is you do decide to sell it and willing to part with it for $8k max, pm me! i'll get the weekend off work, and fly their and drive it home... though it would be great for me to buy it for $8k if you where considering it, i also think you should keep it... you built it, its your baby! a youg child that you are not going to watch grow up... not to mention, in the wrong hands, you know that car will be wrapped around a tree in less then 2 months... keep that in mind...

Hmmm... I'll have to check. I kinda didn't think about that. I checked Napa and they didn't have anything anywhere near that big and Napa usually has everything...

If things end up being so tight in a few months that I am having trouble making it, then I'll just do what I have to do and sell it to the best offer then... Sometimes that's life...

You've gotta remember Brian that money in will never equal money out. I think you'd be doing pretty good to get $8500 for it. Sure the motor is built and you've got a shep tranny (stage 2 right?), but its still just an 18g with an SAFC. If I were you Brian, I would keep both cars until you were getting to the point where you would need the money soon. You've seen how much money and time and work has gone into it, but anyone else just sees the finished product and the fact of the matter is that 10 g's can fetch quite a bit more car than that.

Black99 is right, in a couple months that Talon would be shredded. All that you put into would not be valued by anybody else but you and us here on the thread that know just how much has gone into it. You can also make a lot more on it, I would say online is your best bet. But if it were me, Id keep it. I'd sell the cobalt first.

I wish I could keep the Talon and sell the Cobalt, but I need something that gets 32mpg when I'm driving about 60 miles a day for work... I heard last night that the hospital that is like 5 minutes from my place pays a few dollars more an hour. I certainly hope it's true because I would save a ton of money on gas, be making a lot more income, and then I could keep the Talon... Definitely gonna look into it later this week when I get a chance to...

Also haven't had time to get any pictures of the place yet. I still have yet to move my desk and computers up there. It has been raining the last few days and it made it hard to move things. I might also be getting hooked up with some free leather couches and chair. I checked them out last night and they are clean and pimped! I certainly hope I'll be getting them. I'll know for sure later today.

Other than that, I'll be in good shape. I have a set of table and chairs from a friend, I just need to go pick them up. I'm thinking this coming weekend when I'm off for 3 days I'll get a chance to do most of this stuff...

No shit man, I'm aobut to be in place for about a month now and we still don't have dining room table, LOL.

Make sure you don't go spending money on stuff you don't need. That will drain you faster than you can realize it. I know from experience.

So far I'm doing great guys! I got some free furniture for my place and I am at my parents house now loading up my desk and coffee table and I'll pretty much be set! The only thing I'm lacking is a washer and dryer, but I'm just keeping my eyes peeled for a good deal on that. I don't really need to rush those for now. But the internet will be what I get next month.

The Talon progress... hasn't changed. lol... I have been getting an hour or two of sleep a day for the last week. I am so burned out that I am gonna crash hard tonight since I'm off tomorrow. Of course I'll be moving an extra couch that unfolds into a bed for my spare room/office...

Camera is dead, so no pictures yet... I'm thinking about just taking my video camera and doing an MTV cribs style video. lol...
