Huh what's 15mpg? I would piss myself if i could get that. I get about 8-10 mpg depending on how my car wants to act

Oh it goes I'm not complaining. But when I'm on the freeway the rpm's are so low in OD when I'm doing about 70mph. At around 85mph the rpm's are at around 2 grand if I remember correctly. Last weekend on a rural highway I just had to see that needle climb on my police speedo and ended up getting a ticket for 109 in a 70. But man it sure seemed to like those triple digits! Maybe the cop was just a little jealous he had to get on it a bit more than usual in his Crown Vic to catch up to a Caprice

i get 12-14 mpg with a 77 p/u

id guess you have a 3.08 rear
possibly lower but doubt it.

thats pretty cool though.
a steeper rear end would help a lot.
also check the tranny to make sure its ok.
it shouldnt be going much faster than 45 or so when it shifts into OD.
granted gearing makes a difference, but hey, thats a BIG difference.

From a guy who has 3:08s in his Caprice, I'd say that if it's doing 2k at 80, you're likely closer to 2.93s.

That was just a uneducated guess with bad memory. I'll check tonight on my way home from work. I think I do have 3.08 gears. All I know for sure is it's not a posi (yet). I'll also check to see when it shifts into OD. Usually I'm in D getting on the freeway until I've got my position, then I sit back and throw it into OD.
