American food = all the ethnic food you can think of and made greasier, fattier, and some things added and/or subtracted.

My favorites are Chinese, Italian, and Mexican

Steamed Chesapeake Bay crabs, crusted in Old Bay seasoning? Heck, yes!

Texas chili that'll double as paint stripper? Heck, yes!

my #1 favorite is Italian...there is nothing like it..and thats about all i eat

but no one can substitute for French baking. Their breads and cakes and pastries are TRES BON! mais je n'aime pas les escargots!

Chinese comes in after those two. the lo mein and the fried rice with mushrooms are amazing when they are cooked right..

i cant stand most american food..even tho im american. Mcdonalds makes me barf

I love the escargots... and worse, the frogs
I know these are the two "space"things in french food, for the rest, I won't say that I love it because I'm French and don't wont to be treated of nationalist

Hahaha I'll agree for part of that.

What I meant by "american" food was:

Cheesburgers (not necessarily McDonalds, don't tell me that even though you hate McD's, you don't like a good ol' grilled burger).

Hot dogs

Barbecue

Pizza (albeit not 100% american, we add our own style to it)

Southwest (similar to mexican, but still a different taste overall)

etc.

You can have all the rest of that stuff (despite the obvious European origins of pizza and hot dogs), but there is no way the US owns Barbecue. Australia turned it into a higher artform. :finger4:
