Re: SS Line Connector
I know you guys do. All Southerns do. You can't escape it. Although Chicagoans tend to have a little accent too. Not as bad as New Yorkers, but I've been told I have a small one, and when I get angry the Italian side comes out.
I should really do work today.

Re: SS Line Connector
Ok so I only got 3 inches of snow or so so I will brush off the car tonight when I get home and take a pic. Too cold to work on it with the tubing, plus I need to buy some, but will try this weekend though.

Re: SS Line Connector
Here is a pic of the line. Sorry it's with my phone but I can't find the cable for my camera. Still in a big box full of crap.
![]() I got some heat shrink tubing and gave it a try. First did 3 layers, and then I couldn't get the hose on . Took it off and did 1 layer and it was a tight fit for the hose. Got it on and clamped it down with 2 clamps again. One thing I'm thinking if there still is a small leak, to take a bigger heat shrink and put it over the end of the SS line and the nipple so it forms a barrier type thing. But we'll see how this holds. I probably have to drain my coolant now since it won't take any more. Damn coolant leaks in mid-winter. It's going to 8 degrees on Sunday. And yes Joe, that's snow.

Re: SS Line Connector
It looks good, Im not sure if that bigger heat shrink will be able to shrink enough to go around the line and the nipple, you could try it and see.
Maybe you could take a grinder and cut a little slice in the steel and put the clamp over that. The slice may allow you to get the clamp tighter on the hose.

Re: SS Line Connector
That's a good idea also. I figure the bigger shield around the outside of the hose will shrink to fit both the hose and the nipple. I don't see why not. And even if it doesn't I could use a smaller shield to go over the bigger one that's shrunken down and shrink that one then. Not sure how well it will hold then.
We'll see how it holds this weekend. I'm going to do a flush hopefully tomorrow on the radiator and see if that helps the heat situation. I think there's barely any coolant in it anymore. Warmed up whole way when I was brushing off the car last night, then once I started driving, it dropped back to 0 on the gauge with the heat on full blast. Should put some cardboard or something in front of the radiator also. Brrrr too cold.

Re: SS Line Connector
The thermostat should regulate how cold the motor gets. The motor shouldn't be able to go all the way cold after being warmed up.

Re: SS Line Connector
Well I drove this weekend but didn't have a chance to get under the hood again. TOOOOOOOOOOO cold yet again. The alt belt was squeaking again so I'm assuming it ended up leaking again. I'm just going to wait until it gets warmer. I think high is like 2 degrees today. So I'm staying inside.

Re: SS Line Connector
I went driving last night and it was snowing pretty bad. Like to a point where I shouldn't have been driving. I was watching the temp gauge and it was moving up and down the whole time. I look at the front of the car and the radiator was covered in snow. It's completely open so I think that's causing the issues there. It needs to warm up already Gah!

Re: SS Line Connector
The snow might be the problem. It also could be your temp sending unit for the gauge.
