Re: Tamiya 1/12 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-RR 06'

The model looks good, but the colour doesn't match. It looks too dark.

I really like the way you painted the engine and grill with blackwash. What paints did you use? And did you clear-coat the CF? Looks like it.

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-RR 06'

The Cf is sprayed with Tamiya smoke first than clear coated with Future.

As for paints - I like using Testors Metalizer brand paints - Once buffed they give a real nice sheen like real metal. The radiator is actually PE mesh over pastic kit part

OK. Which CM PE set did you use? The simplified or full version? Can I see a close-up pic of the chain? Again, really like your work.

I used the simplified version - the chain is just kit part, detail painted - I will take a closer pic - its almost done.

Thank you very much for your comments!

How long do you wait until buffing the paints? Doesn't the paint come off when buffing?

slk320 (and anyone else reading this): do you clear-coat the decaled cowlings with Future as well? Have you ever experienced any problems with Future--specifically, yellowing over time?

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-RR 06'

I have never experienced yellowing with future - I used it on every color imaginable.

As for buffing metal paints - no it does not rub off- it simply begins to get a metal like smoothness and sheen.
