Looked it up on google, that looks like a sports car. I dont know if I would drive one though, reminds me too much of the S2000.

I heard that they were gonna discontinue the s2k for a couple of months, maybe a year, because honda is developing a new 2.2l engine for the s2200.. supposed to be like 250-60 hp and they say a lot more torque. I'm trying to remember where i red this... and no its not the s2000 type R.. i think it was in road and track or C&D.. i'll have to check again.. but when i find it i'll post.

Well... i checked @ school 2day.. and it was the R&T March 2003 issue where they mention the S2200. I don't have it w/ me right now.. but off the top off my head it pretty much said that Honda wasn't happy w/ the amount they were selling (i think) and that a coupe would increase sales. So, there should be a coupe coming out, there's a pic in the mag, and they also said with in introduction of "high end" 2.0L four bangers, the S2000 needed a boost w/ only 240hp... so a 2.2L engine will arrive w/ increased hp and torque. That's pretty much it... the coupe looks really nice.. so if ya wanna check it out is March 2003 of Road and Track.

They didn't put the pic online. But here's the blurb...

Road & Track : Inside Line
Honda ponders an S2200 coupe

By Sam Mitani, International Editor

In a previous column, I admitted a preference for fixed roofs over convertibles. As a result, I received numerous letters saying I was "not a sports-car purist" or I'm "spoiled by the year-round California sunshine."

Well, you're right about the California sunshine, but calling me a non-sports-car purist is a bit off the mark. In fact, I feel that in many ways fixed-roof cars are sportier than their open-top counterparts. For one, convertibles tend to weigh more, which in turn affects a car's acceleration. Also, having a fixed roof provides better structural rigidity, which helps a car's stability during turns.

Some people at Honda appear to feel the same way because there are rumors of a coupe version of the S2000. The planned introduction of this proposed car is the fall of 2003, and I've also heard that the coupe will boast more performance than its convertible counterpart. Displacement of the VTEC inline-4 will be increased from 2.0 liters to 2.2, thus the name S2200 and resulting in 10 more horsepower, bringing the total to 250.

As for the current S2000, it is doing well, selling about 10,000 cars per year. But add a coupe version to the mix, and you may see that number jump because, like it or not, there are others besides me who like fixed roofs. Don't get me wrong, I like convertibles, and I'd take the S2000 in a heartbeat as a weekend car. But if I could have only one car in my garage, I'd wait for the coupe.

Well, maybe assembly has stopped, but they still have some left.
If that was the case then they would not advertise the S2k on the honda.com site.

I'm sorry dude, but you don't KNOW your stuff. There's a difference between 'no' and 'know' Please, dear God, change the quote on your profile. It makes you look 10, not 14. Here, I'll make it real easy for you: copy and paste this into your profile: "I may be 14 but I know my shit" One day you'll thank me dude, until then, don't jump off a cliff just because someone tells you to.
