I'm kinda incline to disagree. Yeah..... I know exoto is nice but just how much detai can you get. Maist and Hotwheels obviously have a pretty sparse interior with the basics. Autoart makes sure all the opening things in a car wor and makes some serious detail into the vehicles. Carpeted interior, etc. Spending $150 on one model that simply can't be that much better seems a little ridiculous. I imagine Pagani couldn't make very much money through exoto. HW and Maisto are the biggest sellers.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. Methinks the most practical approach for Pegani is to have the Zondas licensed to several companies. So that those who want cheap model (Maisto) and those avid high-end collectors can get the Zonda that they want Also more licenses = more $$$!

Yes, Exoto seem expensive but most of their models do increase their value (if youfre into that). I have only one exoto model and that is a Civilian Black Hummer Hard Top, I got it for 79US and now itfs worth 130+ US. Also the fact that itfs discontinued and quite rare already adds to the feeling of exclusivity of owning an Exoto model.

This does not happen everyday but I know a guy from another message board who got 2 Exoto models, waited until the models increased its value and sold the other one - which not only paid for the original price for both models but he also got a nice 20 buck profit. Greedy bast*rd :smoker:

Of course I'm not trying to justify by saying that these are investments. Buying Exoto is impractical and expensive but If you are like me who likes to really view at the model and marvel all those little details and find pleasure looking at them then I have no qualms shelling 150 bucks once in a while to get the best money can buy (To an extent itfs the same with buying real life supercars. I mean why get a Ferrari or a Lambo - itfs just a car right? Nope, its passion)

Uh, I think I drank too much whisky.

I'm sure that depends on the licensing agreements. Do they pay a flat fee to Pagani for the Zonda licence or do they pay some sort of royalty per unit sold - or both :smoker2:

Anybody knows how does this licensing scheme works?

I heard that the manufacture might be a company name Protar. I got this from another message board, so it not fact, just what I've heard. All that I know about Protar is that they make 1/9 motorcycles.

I've seen one picture of the new Zonda on a pamphlet from Ibid. It probally was a photo of an actual Zonda and not the diecast.

First it was Revell now Protar. All these rumors floating around simply increases desire not demand. We want our 1:18 Zondas soon!!!

Like I said before, Carsport America is preparing a racing car and will compete the American Le Mans Series, strating with the Sebring 12 hours. The car that is used is a Pagani Zonda. This car will be presented to the press at a press conferention in Belgium on march 1st.

Here you can see the building-up of the car :

BTW : the guy sitting in the car on the 2nd pic is Mike hezemans, one of the 2 drivers for this year.
