Just like real carbon fibre hoods, lift up the carbon fibre seat of a un-flushed toilet, and see the guts of the thing...

Just a thought. Having worked with carbon composites before - when they break they tend to shatter and the shards are very sharp. They also don't rot and after the last carbon female mould work I did, I spent weeks to months removing the last splinters of carbon from my hands.

Do you really want a carbon loo seat it's got no give to it either? I'd prefer a more natural carbon composite. A nice piece of varnished timber say in walnut or bird's eye maple would at least be a touch softer.

I onl;y want it if there is an option to get RACING STRIPES. Imagine how fast you could take a shit then, don;t to add a wing and some stickers. The perfect recipe for one fast shitter.

You'd have to be careful when you flushed, it might suck you in.

Rep made a female out of carbon fiber?

Go gentle there mate,or it won't be just your hands that you are picking splinters out of.

Taranaki - A female mould is when you have an object or alternatively plug (or positive) for the carbon piece you wish to make. You then make a female mould by creating in my case a polyester resin/chop strand mould around the original or male object.

Finally, you then remove the original or positive and then lay up the composite inside the mould (ie its female like a plug as something goes inside it).

Female moulding is laborious, more difficult (esp if you are using a carbon, foam sandwich) and more expensive. The benefits is that the outside of the final object is very accurate and smooth and exactly has the same dimensions as the original model. So if you make a female mould from a door, the carbon fibre work is the same size

The other option is male moulding ie you lay up your material on the outside of the mould. This is easier to do and quicker. The downside is that the inside of the piece is smooth and accurate but the outside requires sanding and fairing to be accurate. Also the piece will be bigger than the original model so if you were doing a door then the male mould must be smaller than the final piece.

yes,I'm with you that far, butwhy did you have a female in your case, and why did you let her go mouldy?
