Here's some info that might help:

Is it Worth Getting A MEVI Being That I Have A 99 Cali-Spec??
Well I've been reading some recent post on the VI, and the more I read the more I get discouraged about buyin the Vi. I've read that powergains of the Vi are only felt above 5000rpms with a JWT Ecu, and being that I have a cali-spec Max there are no such ECu upgrades for me. I love my lowend power but I always feel my car getting weaker in the upper Rpm range(then again I still have stock cat-back) and I thought the Vi would solve that without giving up my lowend. I don't know what to do. I was ready to order the Vi tonight but after reading I don't know if it worth paying that amount of $$ for minimal gains being I have no Ecu upgrade. My driving style is balanced;I want the lowend power as well as highway power. I street race and highway race but from what I seen and read it is a trade off,a VI max will be slower in the streets than a N/A Bolt-on USIM max. And also I want to run 13's 1/4 mile NA, but was said 13's are acheivable with the USIM or the MEVI What should I do?? Please help

If you've ever driven a 5th gen you'll know what I'm talking about when I mention the pull on the top end of the tac, the VQ30 just rips in 3rd all the way to the redline and it still wants to pull until the pesky lil rev limiter kicks in.

Just my 02
I could be wrong though, I'll do some research and post some additional info to this question.
Thnx for the info

bk2k, ithink ur right, but heres some details for u , the vi from the name is variable intake, our vi has 2 combinations of different runners those runners share the same tubes in the beginning then they separate on of them* is long and has a small diameter and that group helps the engine on the low to mid rpm
* on the other hand we have a short and bigger runers and that group helps when the first group cannot satisfy the engine need of air any more and that happens when the engine revs real fast 5600 and up thats why if whatch the dyno graphs u'll always see hp drop after around 5600-6000 rpm cus the engine isnt getting enough o2 with the regular manifolds ,,, anyways right before they separate theres a valve that controls which way the air goes that valve is controlled electronicaly in 2000 and up because they have already in the car but the mod for 95-99 is somewhat controlled mechanically on suction basics

that was my .02

Hey, thanks I appreciate that, I'm just not that technically versed in all the details, so I tried to put it into layman's terms, exactly what the VI would do for their cars, I knew it was of no benefit to me because I have a 2k, some of the fellaz here need all of the help we can get and we are thankful we have guys like you here.
Peace out
