I agree that Korea is being opportunistic. I also agree that bio/chemical weapons are what I fear the worst. A bullet can end my life quicker than some agent that will make me spasm until I break my back, cause my blood to lose the ability to transfer oxygen, etc.

I only hope that we have recovered enough from clinton's cutbacks to be committed over there too if need be.

Trust me, if we need to surrender, we'll defiantly call France to help work out the details. Otherwise I can't really see where their opinion really matters much.

Luetic, in my short time in this forum, I've found you've consistenly managed to say the least intelligent, most offensive things possible. Do you realize how unpatriotic you are? Here we are in an international forum, discussing the United States foreign policy. You are an ambassadore for America, at least to this small audience, and all you can think to do is make an ass of yourself? I hope you're not like this all the time

I frankly don't see how either Iraq or North Korea pose a threat to the American people, except for when thousands of Americans will die in inner city fighting, when the US invades Iraq.

As for North Korea, the US prevented the communist north from toppling the government in the south. Since then, South Korea has grown to become an industrialized nation, and fairly prosperous at that. Lately, relations have been improving greatly between the north and the south, and this is a good thing. I'd be happy to see the Koreans united as one nation

Some years ago, there was the whole "crisis" centred around North Korea building a nuclear reactor for generating power, that would have produced plutonium, which could then have been refined into weapons grade material.

Anyways, a comprimise was made, and the US was supposed to help North Korea in a number of ways, which they never did. Just little things, like building two safe nuclear reactors, which the American technicians would tend, to ensure that all the plutonium would be properly disposed of, and thus not be used in a nuclear weapons program. They never did this, so North Korea has begun work once more on their own reactor. Of course, the White House says this is a just a ploy, so they can get more out of America. After all, they've already gotten so much, like an embargo that starves their people.

What the US does not want to see is a unified Korea, which would be another powerful Asian nation without US foreign interests nearest to it's heart.

The US would make a serious mistake if they pissed off North Korea because it would also piss off the South Koreans and all the effort they have made.

They don't like to be bullied and George Bush should refrain from making stupid comments towards them

Some sort of war against korea would be rediculous the obvious opproach is diplomacy and aid.

Bush will never start a ground war with North Korea, they have a massive army, it is very well trained, and they are quite experienced in guerrilla warfare.

Bush just doesn't want to see a unified Korea. We have a European Union, and the next thing that is coming is an Asian Union, in which the major players would be China, Japan, and Korea. China has the resources, Japan has the technology, and Korea has the expertise in manufacturing. It's likely this union would be closely allied with the European Union, through a trade agreement.

The US has always stuck it alone, and this time, it might stick them back. This arrangement would leave the US out in the cold... Of course all this is my private speculation, and might take 200 years to happen.

bush also likes the idea of isolationism

weather he likes it or not at some point there will be a world union and nothing is going to stop it

I'll be honest I would like us to remain a superpower. However, those come and go. Yet, I hope we do have other superpowers. Then we can have anti-EU, anti-Asia, whatever threads too. j/k. Seriously, it would help even the work load. Yeah, we have "agendas" as everyone in power will (it does corrupt absolutely after all). But we still do humanitarian work and it would be nice to help the rest of the world too. Of course there is a risk of another Cold War to brew. Well, the Earth is going to hell in a hand basket anyhow so screw it, eh?

The answer is yes, In my area with an 11% unemployment rate they are packing up every one and sending them to the midle east, Not just the reserves but the military, marines, etc... They are even asking retired marines to consider coming back. for what? so we can stand around for the next 5 years not shooting a single gun? Look at how bush handled the prob with china taking our spy plane, he just stood around, all talk no action!

it is time now to take out our Rage Against The Machine CDs and move to Cananda, no matter what our congress man say, we will have a draft with in the next 5 years, and that means i will have to go to college or move to canada, which should i do?
