Okay, I'll buy the emergency shut-off thing. I just thought it was highly unusual that it be marked on the interior and not the exterior.

I found a pic of a later version of the car, with the e-switch correctly marked, in the same location... (and, convienently enough, without those pesky confusing ADVAN logos...)

Thanks!

[off-topic]Which of those three was camel yellow again? the camaro? naw, i still say chrome yellow. [/off-topic]

Hah, so if I see somebody driving a car with that thing installed I can pull it (while he's stopped in a red light, say) and his engine will die?

I'm going to trail off of your topic but, I been searching practically everywhere for pics of that car, where do you get yours? I tried google using "spoon sports s2000" and "racing s2000" with no relevent results, any advice?

There is absolutely nothing unusual about that. In fact, this is required by I think all safety regulations. There could be two safety "thingies" - usually the look similar to a nadgrenade pin, but I guess progress isn't standing still - one to shut off fuel and the other one to shut off the electical system. You don't want to go extinguish the fire with the electrics and the fuel still on!

Advan? Those look like the Mugen rims I had on my ITR.

My guess is that it's to pop the hood up when you the pits.

Yeah....that makes sense, especially when there are hood clips!!
This is a race car, not the one you drive to the store to buy milk....race cars have quick-release hood clips.....hood clips stop the hood flipping up when you wreck.....we already know what the switch does....

...and many more from www.vtec.net ...

Then some more random pics from other Japanese sites I couldn't read. :o Ever see the night-racing enduro version? (note the extra lights)

edit: Oh yeah... and Super Taikyu's site:

No, I mean it's unusual that it's unmarked; the elecrtic-bolt-triangle is absent from the hood, though it is featured in the interior. Why would they not label such an imperative safety feature?

The rims are Work Emotion CRs; the tires are Yokohama (and therein Advans?).
