IM thinking maybe 3 or 4 subs. What would be better to get 10's or 12's? Does anyone know anything about the Alpine Type-S subs?

hmmmm
never heard anything good or bad about alpine subs, i know infinity are good kicker is good rf is alright audiobahn is good but that is the only subs i have ever heard and installed

You want two subs that will shake your block? Check out the new Optidrive series from Lanzar. This line is damn insane - 1500 watts power handling each! Should run you about $200 each shipped, these suckers are heavy! http://www.lanzar.com/itempage.asp?MODEL=OPTI1222D Dont forget, a subwoofer is only as good as the amp that powers it. If you got 1500 watt subs, and only giving them 300 watts - obviously they wont be performing like they should be, and were meant to be.

I saw those subs on ebay last night for like under 150. What about these ones .....i think they look nicer.

Like should i try and get an amp with the same RMS and Peak power as the sub is stated to have aswell or what? Do you know what type of box those subs would work best in? by the way thanx for all the input.

about those lanzar subs, id say go for them. you probably hear bad things just cause theyre not popular. back when i had 10's, i went through 3 different pairs(rf,jbl,jensen)... and by far, the deepest and loudest pair were the jensens. so dont always believe the negative hype.
when matching an amp, since you want to get the max out of them, you could get an amp with a rmsmax equal or even higher to the sub handling. just turn the HU volume way up, and adjust gains until you hear distortion. im not sure how accurate it is, but i heard somewhere that its best to have an amp push at least 3/4 of the subs rmsmax. right now i have a 1000wrms/pair ran by a 800wx1@1, and it works great.

i have installed many systems but never bought one for myself
so i was wondering would 1200 watts be good for 2 Kicker L7 s10's 1000 watts a peice and has anyone tried that new RF flat wire?? thx

if you want great SQ/SPL, nothing beats the Elemental Design K-series for its price. prices are:
10"- $125+shipping 12"- $135+shipping 15"- $145+shipping search all you want, but you won't find a deal this good. quality is definitely there. no bad reviews on them so far, except for this one guy, but he didn't know how to install his stuff right  if anyone of you guys know who Loyd L. is (aka bigbassman), he got 146db or so on a LINEARX mic. its a very though mic. he did 155dB or so on an audiocontrol mic. very impressive. here is what he has acheived so far: 2 Time MECA World Champion 3 Time MECA State Champion 5 Time MECA State Record Holder 2002 NSPL World Record Holder, 2nd Place World Finals 2002 NSPL State Champion 2002 USACI Regional Record Holder 2002 USACI State Record Holder he was using 4 15" k-series sub with a stock unmodified MMATS D300CH amp (i think thats the model). those are the 2002 models. the 2003 models are improved a bit. oh yea, they are in his daily driven car. rated at 400 watts RMS (for 2003), they can take more power than that, up to a maximum of 900 watts RMS. SQ? try IDQ with more end. customer service? you got it. 3 years warranty? that too. deal too good to be true? not really. www.edesignaudio.com (look at their A-series and SP-series sub too)

Kicker_solo1 suggested gettting a trio of JL audio W6's in a sealed box. Would you chooose the elemental Designs over them?
