Yea, that's coo, (I saw your "I don't street race any more" post, which is good) but it's just that you referred to it as a "rocket", which implies that it's fast.

And lowering, 'tezzas, catback and wing are the stereotypical ricer mods. But it's good that you're doing it for you and not because you have any delusions of grandeur.

Anyway, most of us have no room to talk. The only "mods" I have are:
Black leather armrest to match black center console and to contrast with rest of tan leather in car. :bandit:
K&N filter.
New tires. (Coopers, not racing tires or fancy tires or anything.)
Famous G20 "Heavy trunk mod"
Kenwood mp3 headunit.
Body-color lower-air dam.
Brand new hood 'cause the old one got vandalized.
Cool "Dealer cut off window stickers with a razor" tint look.

When you replace things with the same thing it was before it isn't really modding your car.

My old tires were Michelins...duh.
And my old hood had these awesome scratches from when I was rain-x-ing the windsheild (so the wipers were up) and decided to do some engine scrubbing while I was still at the carwash. :o
KIDS!! Never never raise the hood while the wipers are pulled off the glass!!

My rules for "modding": If it costs me a ton of money and/or time, and it relates to the car (or preferably attaches to the car) in some way, it's a mod.

J/k. Touche.

So, replacing motor/suspension/exhaust/header etc, are not mods?

Not if you are just replacing them with another 'stock' item because the original is worn out/damaged.....

What about changing non-OEM parts for other non-OEM parts?

Airfilter is a mod if you throw away a perfectly functional stock item in favour of a K & N [or similar]

What if your 1.6 litre engine kicks the bucket so you replace it with a 2.0 that was OEM on a different trim line of your exact same car?

edit: AND my "perfectly functional" airfilter was completely full of dirt and due for 90,000 mile replacement anyhow so I replaced it with a K&N I got used for dirt cheap ($10) from a fellow G20er because the K&N is longer lasting than conventional and is non-disposable.

like I said before, when you replace it with the same thing that was on there before, then no. Modify usually refers to upgrading, not replacing.
