i think no matter what Nissan calls the maxima, it wasnt designed to be a sports car (sedan)
i believe that title goes to names like ///M5, //S4, etc.

Hyundai lied about the HP on the Tiburon and a lot of other cars and is in big trouble because of it. They are freaking slow.

i think the reason why the tiburon beat all those cars are becasue those guys can't drive. i clearly drive a pretty slow car. but i was able to smoke a car that was beating GS-R's, SE-R spec V, 1.8T, and Si's by 3 cars!! 3 cars!!!! that proves how bad those other guys are. its all in the skill level. maybe the guy in the tiburon is a good drive and the other guys aren't as good. and feel that they didn't need to improve their skills since they already drive a quick car (for import standards). but for people like me who drive slower cars, we are forced to drive better to catch up to the other guys. and of course HP isn't everything. i think power delievery and gear ratios matter more then just pure out HP.

Yeah there is a lot, a lot of horrible drivers out there. When I first got my Z and I had my exhaust done, it draws a lot of attention because it is so frikin' loud. Well this guy in a 95-96 Mustang GT 4.6 goes to racing me. We raced about 6 times down Baymeadows road at 1:30. I took him 5 out of the 6! He should have worked me! I just don't understand?!

Well, I can see most of those cars having the potential to be driven very poorly, but one of the many great things about the 1.8T is it's immense low end torque(for it's displacement
).It's hard to fuck up shifts of that engine... it just keeps pulling..

I can agree with Cbass on that, I have driven many Audi 1.8t's and they do have great high end! When I thought the power would slack it just kept going. Great engines!

Yes, the engine is built with all of VW's modern goodies, but still built to the tried formula of the Audi 3B 5 cylinder. A high static compression ration of 9.3:1, and an undersquare bore, resulting in very good low end torque. With the free breathing 5 valve per cylinder head, it has lot's of high end potential, as much boost as your turbo can supply. Add forged internals to the mix, and you have a strong engine with LOTS of potential.
