When is it too much?

I like the look of 23" rims on the new Suburbans... only problem is the weight of each rim seems like its double that of a 17". I tried lifting a 23 (w/ tire mounted) off the ground at this custom rim place... I couldn't!!! Even with a 5.3 litre V8 engine I'd imagine that would just kill performance.

ya but what if ur a buisness guy that wants a nice looking, comfortable, BIG vehicle?? someone with a family isnt likely to go off roading often. And how many people do you know are gonna by a H2 and take it off roading every weekend? or buy a new H1 and take it off roading often ..thats a 100,000 plus (fully equipt) H1 that ur gonna go risk getting roughed up or dented or rolled or something...sometimes its a lot safer and smarter to just keep them in the city

and for escalades...you should put 20's on it..its got nul for offroad capablities without major up grades

the size is dependent on the ride.

my friends navigator has 22s on it. and they look perfect.

i've seen 23s on new chevy suv's and they look perfect as well.

i work around trucks on huge rims all the time, and 20's are my limit for a truck, but 23's on a non dropped suv are pretty nice.

and fyi..

dayton had 36in wires at the sema show... and some other company did too...

i remember when dodge had that truck concept with 22 and 23 inch wheels and flamed tires and everyone damn near peed themselves and said, yeah, it's just a concept, those will never happen... that was like 4-5 years ago...
