Perhaps this applies here

GO and do thier job for a day and then complian about it.
When they have to feed sevral thousand ppl a day you can't expect the same level of service you would get from a cafe that only feeds a few hundred
The fact remains they have several thousand mouths to feed- they are entitled to at least one slip up- you approach them with a bad attitude- they have every right to throw it back in your face- Get what you give- you give a bad attitude- it'll rebound back at you. And for gods sake it is a piece of Bacon- I mean if it means that much to you I will buy you a pack of 12 rashers and send them fast post to you- they should arrive fresh on your doorstep.

There was a similar incident happened a few years ago to the editor of the Auckland University Magazine "Craccum".

He went made a fuss in the Magazine, and even wrote several nasty and often false articles about the cafateria.
The staff responded by suggesting he spend a day work in the cafe.
He accpeted the offer, being from a wealthy middle class family and having never had to do a days real hard work expecting it to be pretty easy.
He was wrong. Totaly wrong.
He came out in such a state of shock he published a special one page retraction of all his previous statements, and in every issue of the magazine for the rest of the year he made a point of printing something that made it clear just how big and hard the job of really was, and making sure that students showed a little more respect to the people who actualy keep the univserity running, like the Cafateria and grounds staff.

Iv worked in a cafe that served about 2-300ppl a day. The one largest of 4 at Auckland uin serves over 10 times that number per day. Its not a job I would want.
Iv had bad food, things missing from sandwhichs etc and Iv accepted it and left it.
However Iv also had a pile of food that had something in it shouldnt have, I pointed it out and it was quickly and efficiantly replaced.

Making a fuss over a missing piece of Bacon to someone who has to deal with extremly large numbers of young immature customers is not going to get you very far, unless you have the wit and charm of a US president. However if you find a forgin object in your sandwhich then by all means tell them about, and Im sure you will be delt with correctly.
