The Rothmans kit is getting harder to find, but the 956 is still easy to come by. I wouldn't spend more than $25 on one. I have about 15 or so in the basement and I never spent more than $18 on one.

That is looking sweet there Dave! I'm glad you were able to save the decals. I'm looking forward to more on this.

Re: Building the 1983 Lemans winning 956 car #3

Thanks guys, I decided since I have the 1/16th Petty car complete to get back on the 956.....

Alot of components on the car are highly polished aluminum.... to get this look I used BMF......

I wanted a fairly detailed engine so here is the beginning stages. Engine is wired with coil added along with a few overflow lines. Everything received a light black wash..... Body was added temporarily for photos.....

Much more to come!!!

The BMF looks great! Just wondering if you've ever tried either Alclad chrome or polished aluminum, both do wonders on parts that need to be chrome or polished aluminum. I have a 956 that I restored from a previous build. It's complete but I just need to find 1983 Rothmans decals...

Love the quality of your build Dave. Top notch as always.

Zurbert, does it have to be the '83 version, what about the '82?

Hi

First things first, what a great build, just started one of these myself and wondered what you used for the engine wires and the overflow lines.

Cheers
