How does a vented BOV loose power? YEa it resurculates the lost air but does it mae a differnce if its out in the open? My buddy has the HKS one in his evo and it sounds sweet as hell over the factory one.

Because when you don't recirculate, the motor thinks that it's getting more air than it actually is because the air is metered before the bov, so when you vent and release the air to the atmosphere, the motor is getting less air with the same amount of fuel, so you run rich for a period of time.

Go on any Evo forum. The majority consensus is that if you aren't running a blow through setup with a GM MAF, or using like an AEM stand alone setup with the MAP sensor, the HKS SSQV is the worst bov for the car.

You guys really need to do some research before you make yourselves look like idiots. I'm not trying to bash you or anything - just trying to help. But, you aren't listening and trying to fight the whole way.

Regaurdless I know what the difference is between wideband and a/f guage.It was tuned......and they said it is runnign the way it is suppose to be. I am not arguing with anyone!I dont know until I get the car on the road....it is winter and I am waitign for it to melt...then I will know forsure.....if it is running good and my buddies own a shop here and they have a set of hks pistons for a 4g63 in the window.

All I will say is the car looks very clean, though I don't care for the taillights. But the car does look nice.

These threads are the reason I still leark around here. It ain't no thing if he wants to vent, the ecu will figure it out, he will just be running rich durring shifts and slightly after..

Better to run a little rich than a little lean IMO anyways... I ran mine vented before and didn't have any issues with it... As for the car being built by HKS. How about some proof to back it up rather than just saying it? I don't want to get into a pissing match, but I don't want somebody running around here lying either.

Yes, you probably got a little bit more shit than you should have, but you know what? A lot of it was brought on by yourself. I know for sure I got real sick real quick of all of the common sense questions you posed and in the wrong subforums besides... I doubt I am the only one.

I dont care how it sounds when its running or whether you, your friend, a reputable shop, or the owner of HKS himself put that BOV on your car, they did not do it right. Period. As popular as HKS is, if they had pistons and rods available for our cars they would be remotely trackdownable, and if you really did get a tune from them, you would have to have a tuning device... which I see none and have heard nothing about in any of your posts.

We arent grammar nazis but there is no reason to not exhibit atleast a fifth grade level of English (unless of course English isnt your native language).

What makes all of this worse is the fact that despite clear and succinct evidence that you were either lied to or lied to us on several accounts you still went on about it. Proving you wrong does not qualify us as a "bunch of pricks," but the excessive flaming that went on does (I'll get to that later). My advice for you: realize you do not know everything and keep an open mind. I know that wording sounds cockish, but its true... everyone is wrong from time to time, particularly when you just start out.

Now, things like this thread have got to stop. I've had it mentioned to me by other mods, our "mob mentality" or whatever. I've noticed a lot of useless and flaming posts lately and when Brian and I reorganize here pretty soon we will crack down on unnecessary flaming.
