Re: snow fall tracking

The moisture from "Olga" and the low pressure front from the SW merged earlier this morning, adding wet to cold... makes snow, bud. :P

Shit pry didnt' stick down on the ground tho, right?

I'm sitting in 3" already, expecting an inch per hour until 3pm. Possible 8-10" by tonite... another 4 at least by sunday, unless the storm turns northerly, then it will be less. And yes, I still have to go to work tonite..

On the plus side, if it gets really bad after I get there, I'll be able to leave early and still get paid for up to 4 hours, even if I wasn't there... if I'm there for more than 4, they just take my time on the clock...

So 2 hrs == 4 hrs, but 6hrs == 6 hrs.

Re: snow fall tracking

Got 2-3"s over night, and it's still coming down steady. It's not supposed to stop until 7 or 8pm; expecting about 4-6"s. Supposed to just miss the snow that Dr0pZ0n3 & Greenblurr93 are going to get, because it's supposed to push East right before it gets here.

Re: snow fall tracking

I too live 20 mins from work... took me 45 to get there, about 31 to get home... home wasn't bad, there was a bitch.. they hadn't plowed the roads yet, so the only hint of asphalt was driving where every other fucktard on his way to or from work was.

It's quite fortunate that I haven't gotten around to lowering the car yet... it would have never made it to work if it was 1.5 inches lower than it is now.. I was already plowing the road on the way to work.

9.5 inches recorded today, another 4 or more to come on sunday.

Re: snow fall tracking

CivicSpoon, got your shovel or snowblower tuned up and ready to go? They're saying 12 to 24" from midnight tonight to Late Sunday evening. Then a small breather mid week, and another Nor'Easter for next weekend

yup I don't know how much more of this crap I can handle. I already slipped on the ice and hurt my leg this week. I'm thinking about just driving down South and staying in a hotel, every time the snow comes. Some how I don't think that's a very realistic option haha

Re: snow fall tracking

Well, We're looking at another 4-12 inches tomorrow here... and that's to add to the 9 we already got, (most of which is gone from any place you'll ever see me walking/driving)... so basically, I hope it warms up a bit after this snow, and we don't see much more.. I want this one to be a dry winter.

I wouldn't count on it. Predictions are this is supposed to be an average to above average in precipitation for the winter. Here in Syracuse that can be anywheres from 120 to 170". You're not too far away, at least you don't see the lake effect we do. Your snow is from the Mid-west or coastal storms, which they say should be plentiful this year because of El Nina in the Pacific. Plus it's been a rather dry summer and these seasons tend to even things out in the precipitation department.

Re: snow fall tracking

yeah, I've noticed that.... plus, last year's winter was pretty dry around here.. so, I guess I can't have a blessing twice... at least I'm not walking everywhere anymore.

How is life up in Syracuse? I don't really like it here in Endicott... it sux0rz... too many ppl that think they're something they're not... like thugs, g4ngst4z and cough cough... rich. They're all poor, not a damn one of them knows what a hard life is like, and none of them are willing to work full time at a real job, but they still wanna sit and bitch about how the "man" is "keeping them down"... LMAO.

I work almost 100 hours a week religiously between a full time job and home-duties and running an upstart business... and you don't hear me bitching about life.. and I DON'T have money, I'm NOT rich, or a thug, or a g4ngst4... I just live my life, and I'm happy w/ it.. how hard is that, really?..

K, I'm done ranting now... have to do that once in awhile.

SNOW SUCKS!!!! HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!1!!!!!111!1!

Re: snow fall tracking

http://blog.syracuse.com/news/2007/1...r_a_winte.html

"A foot to 18 inches of snow had been predicted for Central New York, but the snowfall turned to rain and sleet earlier today, keeping snowfall totals down. Only 4.1 inches had fallen at Hancock Airport by mid-afternoon. The highest snowfall total in the Syracuse area was in Baldwinsville, which got 5 inches."

Really, Mr. Rick Moriarty? Only a high total of 5 inches? The more 2 & a half feet of snow, currently in my f***ing yard, says otherwise. If I ever meet this guy, I will kick him square in the balls with steel toed boots.

Re: snow fall tracking

rofl... @ kick him square in the balls.

We got another few inches last night.. it wasn't alot, but it was that light, fluffy crap that noone can drive on... I first put my car into a nice 4 ft snow bank @ 15 mph, then got stuck in my own damn driveway, b/c the guy the landlord hired to do it only charged him $10... he only charged that much for a reason.. HE SUCKS.

Then, we got a lil more snow late last night, when I had to run to the store to get lasagna noodles for the wife... It took me another 15 mins and 1/3 of the remaining tread on my front tires to get out of the driveway... then another 10 mins to get to the store, then 5 mins to park the car, since it just kept sliding through spaces.. apparently, Price Chopper hired the same dude to plow their parking lot...

Wifey is outside shoveling out the car right now, and part of the driveway, so I can get a running start to get to work, but at least the roads are done now. *(yes, she actually LIKES to shovel snow... )

I'm hoping that will be the only real storm we get for this winter, w/ the rest of the predicted snowfall coming in short spurts that only stick for a night or so, and begin melting off in the mornings.
