Re: Geoff Brabham Brickyard 1994

Thanks Dave and thank you for the tip. That would have saved me a little bit of rubbing.....hahaha But i have rubbed it down and was going to try polishing it out but i think i will do another coat to flatten it all down again.
Cheers,
Shayne

Looking good Shunter, the clear still looks very nice. This will be good to follow, where abouts in Oz are you from? I'm from Sydney.

Re: Geoff Brabham Brickyard 1994

kanedge i am in Melbourne. I am working at the same time on doing Brad Jones's Lumina that he raced here in the early 90's and Mr Nascar is going to do the decals for George Elliott's Lumina with the Real McCoy sponsorship...So i will get a little Australian stuff done.

Re: Geoff Brabham Brickyard 1994

[quote=Shunter]Well i have had my first experience with using 2 pack. It is nice to work with bar the smell and of course the care you want to take for your own health. It certainly has a shine and looks good i think. It went on OK but i shook the hardener can before i poured it into the paint jar and it has caused a few bubbles/pinholes, the last pic shows the marks i have in the paint, as you can see they are like small pinholes. I am letting it sit for a day longer then i shall sand it down and while i am at it clean up the mess from the clear around the window openings etc.
Next time you paint Try adding a couple drops of Smoothie Fisheye eliminator. It really works and is compatable all types of paint. Here is a link. http://e-bodyshopsupplies.com/index....S&Category=128

Re: Geoff Brabham Brickyard 1994

That clear looks tops even with the couple of fisheyes. As you say they can be fixed with a bit of work. Seems you still have a few projects that have taken ages.( looks at desk with wry grin )

Re: Geoff Brabham Brickyard 1994

Thanks guys for the comments. A small update. Paint is fixed as best i can get it. I will try some of the Fisheye Eliminator, plus also work on your tip Dave as i hope to not have this issue again. I have drilled out the back of the wheels (they do not look as bad as what this picture is highlighting) and seeing i could not really tell what colour the wheel strip was a scrapped the black off to show the blue plastic and then cleared the wheel.

Chassis is getting some details now with shrink tubing for rollbar padding. I still need to trim the thread to make it look more like a ziptie.
I will do a little detail wiring inside as well and then wrap it up.

Re: Geoff Brabham Brickyard 1994

The bodywork looks very nice now... almost too perfect (but that is in no way a criticism).

Bill

Looking good, that bonnet is so shiny. I like the idea for rollbar padding.

Re: Geoff Brabham Brickyard 1994

Well nothing special here, just slow progress. I have flocked the seat and will add belts to it now, tyres are done and some minor work on the chassis. Engine is started with just a little wiring which i will show soon.

The window net is just sitting there for now, thanks for it JT.

Re: Geoff Brabham Brickyard 1994

I have been working on the motor with this one plus a little of wiring in the interior. I hope to get the belts on the seat and then i can wrap up the interior work and get the body on the chassis.

Re: Geoff Brabham Brickyard 1994

Well i thought it was time to get back into the modelling seeing the weather has finally cooled a little, the garden in the new house is started so wifey is happy. Not a great deal so far just some engine work, and finishing off the chassis.
