Re: D16A1 Into a 91 Si Hatchback - Need Help!!

Thats what I'm wondering. If the Engine side of the harness is your stock harness, why isn't matching up? is the plug hiding somewhere or something. You don't need to use the A1 harness, just use your stock harness with it and if you need to extend or move some wires, move it on that harness.

Like Frodo said, its located either on the backside of the manifold or on the topside towards the drivers side. Its held in with 2 philips screws usually, might have to take an impact driver(not an air impact) to break them loose. The sensor itself is usually white. But before you go replacing it, get your harness straightened out. You missing a lot of main wires without that round plug being hooked up.

I'm not even touching this one.. that engine shouldn't have bolted to a Si tranny... it should have been a couple bolts that were off.. unless they used the 'teg tranny w/ the engine, but even then, you should use the harness that came off the Si engine, you'll only need to move two wires, for the CPS

Re: D16A1 Into a 91 Si Hatchback - Need Help!!

yeah, I know, and it shouldn't have bolted to any D-series tranny... I've done hours and hours of research on that engine, b/c you CAN put it in the 8-91 cars, and it's not that hard, but it requires drilling a hole and making a wierd bolt to mount to the tranny, and custom fitting a new front mount.. it's not worth it.

If he's using the 'teg tranny, it would be alot easier, b/c then it's just the front mount that needs to be messed with, the rest of them should pretty much just line up.

BTW, original poster, take a couple 1/4" washers, and put them between the two parts of the front engine mount, that will solve your height/angle issue.

Re: D16A1 Into a 91 Si Hatchback - Need Help!!

You can bolt it up, just a couple places won't line up. The 1g/3g guys do it often to get a newer D series in their cars without having to make axles for them.

Front mount? lol, I don't have one of those, lol.

Re: D16A1 Into a 91 Si Hatchback - Need Help!!

funny thing is i havnt the slightest clue on what tranny is, some one scraped off the tranny code. Anyways the yellow civic it came out of was a 88 DX, so the wire harness was different on the other car. And on the tranny i know its not the teg tranny since only one bolt does not line up to the block.

oh and sorry for the mix up earlier on the harness. The engine harness is the D16A1 harness and the harness from my ECU is my stock Si one.

Alright, you need to get your stock SI engine harness and use it, thats where your having issues. Its always easier to use your stock engine harness than trying to use the harness for that engine.

Re: D16A1 Into a 91 Si Hatchback - Need Help!!

yeah, cuz now it all depends on what kind of engine that was to begin with.. if it's the '86-'87 teg motor, you're going to have a problem... you'll need to get a DPFI dizzy, b/c that one is going to be vacuum advance. (you'll need to make a small adapter to use the DPFI dizzy tho.)

if it's the '88-'89 teg motor, you're fine on that end, it's electronic advance already, and most of the sensors should be the same. make sure you leave the oil cooler on the back of the engine, and hook the water lines to it.

Re: D16A1 Into a 91 Si Hatchback - Need Help!!

Well i still have the harness from the donor car and also the ECU which is a PG7 ECU. Here are some pics from the donor car engine bay. Hopefully it will help determine what teg' it came out of, or what i still need from the donor.

The donor car wasnt an Si Was it? If your trying to slap a converted harness from a dx onto your SI your on crack lol. Look, forget the donor. Use YOUR original harness that came off whatever engine was already in YOUR car, it will all plug in.

Re: D16A1 Into a 91 Si Hatchback - Need Help!!

ok there is a problem there since i dont have the harness from my old engine. Dont ask what possesed me to get rid of it. yes i know im a dumbass. Well none of the wires on the D16 engine harness have been spliced or modified and are completly stock. So im gonna have to work from there.

Re: D16A1 Into a 91 Si Hatchback - Need Help!!

Problem is then that the harness is from the integra if I follow right. Worse is that its not even from a 90-93 integra, that damn engine came from an 80's integra.
