Transmitter Programming
Method 1-No Tools Required
In the event that a transmitter is lost, program the old and the new transmitters into the memory of the remote control door lock receiver. Up to 4 transmitters may be programmed.

Important
Once entering this procedure, programming the first transmitter erases all previous transmitters. You must program all transmitters.
Program one vehicle at a time. One transmitter could be programmed into other vehicles that are also on program mode in close proximity.

Sit in the driver's seat.
Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Close all vehicle doors.
Press and hold unlock on the door lock switch.
While holding the door lock switch in the unlock position, insert and remove the ignition key twice. Do not rotate the ignition lock cylinder.
Insert the ignition key a third time leaving the key in the ignition lock cylinder. The ignition must remain in the LOCK position for the rest of the procedure.
Release the door lock switch. You will hear three chimes. This chime feedback indicates that transmitter programming is active.
Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time on the keyless entry transmitter for 12 seconds. You will hear two chimes. This chime feedback indicates that the transmitter has been programmed successfully.
Repeat step 8 for the rest of the transmitters (for a total of 4 transmitters).
Exit this procedure by removing the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.

keyless remote

Does anyone know how to check to see if my 99 Buick Century has remote entry, I bought a remote that looked the same as what was shown in the owners manual, I tried the programming procedure that is listed in this forum, everything works until I hold the lock & unlock buttons at the same time, but i never get a double chime announcing it is programmed. Do I have the right remote or Frequency?
Numbers on the back of the remote are as follows:
GM/LEAR 25695955
FCC ID KOBLEAR1XT
CANADA 3521 102 1718

Thanks for any help.

We would prefer that you do not resurrect posts this old. I recommend starting a new thread/post. Thread closed.

POSTING IN CLOSED OR OUTDATED THREADS:
If a thread has been closed, there is probably a logical reason for it. If you feel that the reason(s) for closure of the original thread are unjustified or wish further clarification feel free to contact any member of the moderating team. However, do not start a new thread about another closed thread.

Please avoid posting or voting in outdated threads. It merely clutters up the message board and makes it more difficult for fellow members to sort through the vast amount of information contained on the boards. If you have new and important information to add regarding a past discussion, feel free to start a new thread and if need be, add a link to the original thread.
