Re: wut beats a charger
Yea that sounds about right a 318... I haven't talked to him in a few weeks now since he's still in school and he works his ass off for sh** he wants, and I'm supposing he got another job tyring to get enough money to get some new paint.
I was looking at some 240sx cuz I really like the look of them... but other research has brought me to see an el camino... not sure how fast they are but I'm liking the size, and the fact that I won't have to be giving rides to everyone all the time. Plus the fact that I LIKE music so putting 3 8's behind the seats... that would make my car pound especially without making a trunk rattle like in my prix. So tell me what you think about an 80 el camino with a factory floor shift 3-speed, with a 305 in it. I don't really car what's in it right now, cuz for sure if i get it i'm swapping it for a 4speed and maybe a better engine, but I want something thats cheap on gas as I want it for a daily driving. Any tips and advice is appreciated. (plus the fact that I can find these camino's cheap, the mentioned above is only 1800.. a lil pricy for me but in a month I could afford it.) |

Re: wut beats a charger
Not so much. Turning the E36 into a dragger is going to take away alot of what made them such a fun little car. I learned the hard way that while BMWs can cut some amazing 1/4 mile times, you REALLY have to pay to play with these. A quality true dual exhaust set up on an LS F Body will set you back about six to seven hundred bucks. A marginally decent exhaust for a base E46 325i is going to be about five hundred. The turbo kit that AA puts out for the E36 M3 costs about 8-9 thousand.
Of course, it all depends on what the OP wants to run. Domestic or Import/Transplant is the first question, and then we can go from there.

Re: wut beats a charger
True im a die hard bimmer fan though. And also ive seen what one can do first hand. I saw an e36 m3 smash a viper. Viper guy got a little fiesty after he lost. But i know the guy with the bimmer and he has like an endless supply of money so i guess thats why. (I wish i had endless supplies of money)

Re: wut beats a charger
Well I just talked to my buddy recently. He has been working double shifts so its been hard to get a hold of him. As it turns out I was right, he's saving to paint the charger now.
Well anyway the engine is a 318, and unusually it's a hemi... well not really, the top of the heads are hemishperical, however the sparkplug isn't set vertically so it really isn't... how much effect his custom heads are I don't know. So that's what I've found out. as for that el camino... i threw that idea out the window. I found a 73(i believe this is the correct year) camaro that only needs a new carbureator, and a lot of bodywork but has a solid frame and only costs $1500. I'm still looking but number two on my list is going to be the 240sx |

Re: wut beats a charger
a charger with a 318 could b beaten by my stealth tt, stock.
the 240sx is a decent car, good weight balance, 50/50. not exactly as quick as everyone makes them out to be, with a lil bit of modificatoin tho that'll change. the 95-98 are hard to find for sale, but the early 90's are easier to get. just gotta pay attention to them, i've yet to see a 240sx hatch that was not modded. if u dont wanna mod a car than it'll b harder to find, if u want to, then it's been started for u

Re: wut beats a charger
wat u saying my statement was wrong, i said they can b made quick. but stock is arguementive. 95-98 will keep up with my 87 944. it depends on wat quick is to u.

My post is for Lyken's benefit, to see what a KA motored 240 is capable of. It wasn't aimed at you at all. He said second on his list was a Nissan 240SX, and I was just pointing this out to him so he can take a look. Simple as that.

Re: wut beats a charger
Charger's are just an intimidation car in my opinion, My lancer right now primarily stock with a turbo has 243 hp, Needle alone goes to 160, and has a few notches afterwards, I think I could get it that high since it's not that old, a charger, stock, only goes to 140 or so buried. I could be wrong but that's just my assessment of the two
