Yeah, the stock air flow on those cars is pretty good as is. You won't see tons of gains out of them unless you get headers as well, and a good tune. Who's his chip by? And if he can drive, most I/H/E E46s will run in the upper part of the 12 second range. But from a roll, you'll smoke him. No problem.

Re: nsx vs sti, sti vs supra, nsx vs evo 9.

no idea what kind of chip he has in the E46. He bought the car as is. And yes the gears are stupid long. My friend calls them the "magic gears" with my 1 inch over sized diameter rear wheel. 1st goes to 50mph, 2nd goes to 89mph, 3rd goes to 125, 4th goes to 160mph and 5th goes to 199mph.

I also do have it on film, but my friends haven't uploaded it yet. When your racing, it kinda feels like a long ass time. but when i saw it on video, I only hung in there for like 2-3 seconds and the STi is gone. but in that very short time i was able to hit almost 100mph.

hopefully when my friend uploads the videos i'll post them up. we have it with a view from my car vs the EVO 9 and my view vs the STi, and the STi's view walkin away from me hard. hahah

also you guys are over estimating the NSX. I think the E46 and me with I/H/E should be a very close race. remember my car only traps like 103-104mph stock. A stock M3 can do 105-108mph. I will need mods to close the gap. Now if i had a 3.2 liter 6 speed than on average they'll slowly walk a M3.

Re: nsx vs sti, sti vs supra, nsx vs evo 9.

what about the factors with air drag? isnt the bmw more like a box compared to the nsx? that alone shoud make a difference. you guys should weigh about the same, im sure the volks are helpping you out tremdously. kinda like the slower na 3kgt vs a wrx or evo on a roll.
also, doesnt the nsx love breathing mods? i mean did honda make it for fuel efficency and the us standards?

as my car sits now, my car is 600 + lbs lighter than the M3. the weight advance is on there apparent in the lower gears where response is more crucial. Up top, its all about power and aerodynamics.

the M3 may look like a box, but when i saw the coefficient of drag for it, its actually surprising sleek. I think the nsx and the m3 is similarly aerodynamic. the the M3 has a cleaner shape esp on the sides, and i'm not sure if it generates positive downforce. I can actually feel the NSX hug the ground more as i'm going faster. so that is good for stability but bad for being slippery.

and yes andrew i'll call you next time. but my friends aren't too much of a fan of your other friend. but suddesh is cool though.

Re: nsx vs sti, sti vs supra, nsx vs evo 9.

NSX v. E46 M3 is a much discussed topic on some of the BMW forums. I think the conventional wisdom is stock v. stock its a drivers race. I'll be interested to hear your analysis. I've never managed to get an NSX to run.

Also- any chance you'll ever bring your car on a road course Tat? The NSX was really designed for turns.

Re: nsx vs sti, sti vs supra, nsx vs evo 9.

we were suppose to setup an event at lime rock. but steering wheel and brake pedal is shuttering. I need to try to put hub centric rings in the wheels and see if that goes away.

also, remember how i said i hung till 100mph? well thats how quick it takes for us to hit 100mph. when i was side by side with the camera the car ( the 380whp STi) it was 60mph, and when he started to pull away we were doing 100mph.

Damn NSX's are sexy, if there was ever a car that I liked the looks of more than my own, it's the NSX. (in the affordable range anyway)

Great cars, great race

I'm jealous of that STi to.... At least this gives me a close benchmark to the performance that i'll get doing all that to my car...kinda

Good job Tat, you held your own, that's what counts in my book.

Re: nsx vs sti, sti vs supra, nsx vs evo 9 (with video!)

well josh my friend with the STi just got retuned with a few more mods and he made 450whp with meth on a dyno dynamics dyno. which means it should be close to 500whp on a dynojet.

i will not stand any snowball's chance in hell against him now.

Re: nsx vs sti, sti vs supra, nsx vs evo 9 (with video!)

nice races man,, but if i'd made the vid i would have turned the music off (or at least down) during the actual races. 2 cars going WOT is usually all the music I need in a vid like that
