Yeah, with the introduction of good EFI, GM and Ford could drastically increase the efficiency of the engine, reducing emissions to a point where they could actually make some power ![]() The TPI system wasn't the best, but it was a big step up from throttle body injection, which was in turn a big step up from a carb. The later EFI system used on the LT1 and LT5 engines was a developed TPI system I believe... OTHO, Ford just took their EFI from their Formula 1 and Indy cars and adapted it for street use...
