Re: 95 Grand Am Transmission problem.

If it comes outta park without pushing the brake then the park nuetral safty switch is probly bad. That controls the back up lights if I'm not mistaken.
Also have you checked the bulbs for the backup lights ? If they were blow, that would trip a quad driver dtc.

Seeing how your car is a hybrid ODB I-II, you might be better off spending the cash and taking it to the stealership
They should be able to tell you whats wrong..

Re: 95 Grand Am Transmission problem.

Well, I want to kick myself in the ass now. The most beautiful 5 amp fuse you will ever see was apparently bad. I took out the PRNDL fuse for the 100th time. There was no sign of it being blown or damaged in any way. The thing was crystal clear. In my frustration over this issue I thumped it across the street. A few hours later I decided I was going to go back at it and trace more wires but first I had to replace the fuse and move the car back into the carport. It was dark and I put it in reverse and I noticed the glow of my backup lights. I'll be damned it works. I took it out for a 45 minute road test and it hits every gear perfectly. Unfortunately now I feel like a retard...
